ok, he is not able to do the work release program where he leaves jail to go to work, and must be returned to jail by the scheduled time because with the way the family hours of work are it doent allow you to help him, right ?? Usually if osmeone is put on house aresst they do not leave their yard unless going to a court date etc, and will have an electronic device on the ankle that if he/she crosses their given boundary an alarm will sound notifying the PD they have broken the rules. I would suggest talking to an attorney or calling the courthouse and asking if the judge/majistrate who gave the sentence if something could be worked out---------------very unusual for the judge/majistrate to change his/her mind. In that case I would say he just might no have a job-----------it all depends on charges---------you can only try and ask the courts.

Yes, house arrest is definitely a possibility. Ask about getting a different public defender too.

Yes they can if the judge orders it as a condition of bond. The alternative is for the defendant to spend that time in jail. If the defendant thinks it's unfair for whatever reason, they need to get their attorney to argue for them in court.

Absolutely - it is a great alternative to our overcrowded prison system. If your friend is offered house arrest he/she should be grateful - they are in their own bed with their own food and friends and family can visit freely - barely a punishment at all aside from restricted distance from their door or limits of work and home.

Dog the Bounty Hunter is on Federal House Arrest. All that means is you have to be in by 10 pm when your probation officer calls! Or maybe your bail bondsman...wouldn't that be funny?
