I have been freezing my butt off. I would suggest sweaters, coats, hats. That is what I am wearing to work. I have been dressing in layers.

Generally, weather in January can be a bit tricky. Last week we had nighttime temps in the 30's. We had some light rain for a couple hours one night. Today the Santa Ana winds are blowing, and highs should be around 80.
Best thing to do is to check Yahoo weather on the 11th, to get an idea of the forecast. It also depends on when you are getting off the plane. If someone were flying in today (the 8th), I would say that no sweater is necessary, but carry one anyway in case the airlines lose your luggage. It's always best to be prepared.

the coastal cities are very casual,
Burbank/Valley a little more dressy.
I'd say get on the plane in a nice velour 2 piece outfit!

Layer your clothes. It's about 49 degrees before Sunrise, and can get from 68-78 depending on if you are coastal or inland.

dress in layers. it's still cold that time of year, but getting into a car is still fairly hot here even in the winter. i always find myself taking off and putting back on my sweater when I go places.

expect it to be warm and sunny but bring a light jacket like a windbreaker in case it does rain

a sweater and pants, it hardly rains and its mostly just wind that makes it colder. just make sure you check out weather.com for a actual report of rain
