Most people (beside the three kings, John, the sheperds, Harod, and Elizabeth) didn't know about Jesus, including the gospel writers. They probably got the information they got from the people that were there at each childhood event. Another reason could be that the mentioned events were the only important events in Jesus' childhood.

Maybe because it was pretty boring. I mean, if you had the perfect child, what exciting Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn stories would there be to tell? We know he astounded the priests and scribes on a trip to Jerusalem when he was a child.

What more would we want to know? That he got top grades in the science fair, or that he won every spelling bee? He was always on the honor role? That math was always easy for him and that He was always right in his arguments with friends? That there was no sibling rivalry?

There are stories about his childhood that are not in the Bible, but these have been determined to be pure fiction. The Bible focuses on a loving God who created mankind for companionship and went to great lengths to see that the way is clear so that man can be with God again if man so chooses. That's the overall theme of the Bible, not childhood stories.

The technology for written word was a high tech thing back then. Today we take it for granted with todays technology. They got the essentials passed on and to be quite honest, every day family matters gets kind of boring. As Jesus said to Mary at the wedding feast at Cana that his time had not come to reveal himself. This so often gets overlooked but the timing of Christ's appearance and revelations are planned.

Or check out the film Dogma .....

There are other chapters that were not put in the Bible probably because it would make it too long or it was not of much importance but if you check a christian book store they should have the other chapters.

How easy would it be for you to write a biography of someone you never actually knew and were writing down second and third reports about him.

You would be tellling lies right? So its probably best to leave it out unless you can find 2 or more people who witnessed the same event.

If people had written down everything Jesus said and did the world itself could not contain the books.

I'm guessing it'd be the same reason we don't see an entire life time of a person in a movie.....it'd be just too long

That wouldn't do much to influence the masses now would it. Children's stories, Humph. I'd rathe read about talking snakes and floods that kill millions of people, and one boat that can't even carry two of each insect.

What would be the reason for that? Why would you need to know his childhood? He's already
told what you need to know.
