From one end to the other, the Bible refers to miracles. There's the story of Moses parting the Red Sea in Exodus. There's Elijah calling down fire from heaven on Mt. Carmel. There's Jesus walking on water, healing the sick, and raising the dead. But are these accounts really credible? Can anyone with an intelligent mind accept the reality of the miracles described in Scripture?

The Bible, with a credibility of its own, is replete with reports of miracles. All four Gospel accounts refer to Jesus as a miracle-worker. Specific details in those accounts (Matthew 11, John 11) and the fact that first-century Jewish authorities acknowledged Jesus' miracles (John 3:2), adds weight to the case. Even so-called antagonistic sources, such as the Talmud and certain Islamic writings, allude to the miracles of Jesus. Then, finally, all attempts to refute the broad-ranging reports of miracles in the Bible have themselves lacked reliable documentation and credibility.

But isn't it possible that Bible miracles are just the fantasies of ignorant people who don't even know about the laws of nature?

If a man had no conception of a regular order in nature, then of course he could not notice departures from that order. When the disciples saw Christ walking on the water, they were frightened: they would not have been frightened unless they had known the laws of nature, and known that this was an exception.

But aren't miracles actually a violation of the principles of logic? Don't miracles essentially therefore make Christianity out to be an unreasonable faith?

Not at all. You are confusing the laws of logic with the laws of nature. The laws of logic are prescriptive. They define the basic and inviolable parameters and unavoidable patterns of human thinking. On the other hand, the laws of nature are descriptive. They are a record of how the natural world normally operates. Scientific laws don't control or explain events. They are only a generalized record of those events. The laws of logic constitute a perfect standard. The laws of logic constitute a perfect standard. The laws of nature describe actual reality. God can suspend the laws of nature at will because He designed them. He would not (and actually cannot) violate the laws of logic, because they are a part of His nature.

I have experienced a miracle of my own, and also the Dr's taking care of me witnessed it.....

I has a horrible intestinal disease that had no cure. It was very painful and some of my intestines needed to be removed....one night while in prayer I experienced a hand with a glow touch me on the forehead,it shocked me.

Anyway I went to the Dr and they done a scope to see how much more the intestine had deteriorated, and they found nothing. The diseased part of the intestine was pink and healthy. They were very shocked and said it was a miracle, never before in medical history has this ever taken place.

I LOVE THE LORD ! He gave me back my life and I'm so healthy and happy !

Miracles are still happening today..have a wonderful New Year !

Miracles are from God. And yes miracles do happen. I was diagnosed with Tumors and the Doctor prepared me for the worst. After many prayers from friends and my Church the tumors were gone. When my seven years old niece laid dying at a children's hospital in Memphis from Cystic Fibrous she struggled to breathe. I watch this child that had pain and agony on her face and transformed before my eyes into a beautiful Angel. That was definitely no myth.

Perhaps you and I are breathing pure nitrogen. Perhaps the earth does not exist. What are you thinking here? This earth was created at just the right distance from the Sun to allow us to live here. There is just the right amount of oxygen and carbon dioxide to allow for life to exist here. The soils and water were put here to allow for the plant-life and animal-life to exist here. Each and every animal has been created to live and multiply on the earth so that the "cycle of life" will continue as it must. GOD has tilted the earth just right so that the earth can contain life as well. The moon's existance and distance cause the tides which are needed for life here. What more could you ask for. Jesus' miracles were written down by a number of people outside of the BIBLE Writers. They are a testament to HIS' Miracles that did happen. They were tremendous examples thaqt allowed people to know for certain Who HE was! HE came, taught, preached, lived a sinless life, was brutally tortured and murdered for the forgiveness of our sins. Don't MINIMIZE HIS EXISTENCE. Have a great LORD's DAY!!

Miracles happen every day, we just don't see them. A miracle could something as small as a conversion. Not necessarily a religious conversion, but one like of some one full of hate, lets the hate go and accepts that which they hate.

part of something being a miracle is the factor of mystery. it is unbelievable that somethin like that could happen, but yet it does.. that is what seperates a miracle from an everyday occurance.

Mythology is a religion in which no one any longer believes.
