however i still can't seem to hookup with anybody...i know this one girl at work wants to hookup but im not really attracted to her at all

im not waiting for someone special, but i am becoming very picky

is there something wrong with me or does it seem like im doing this by personal choice?

wait until you want a relationship to be picky. Right now just go out with any chick who is f#%^able, this one chick sounds like a start, but make her think you are actually interested in her, it makes things easier.

Take a girl out that you find fairly attracted to in some sort of way. It doesn't have to lead to anything.
I went out on friendly types of dates a lot in high school and college and wasn't interested in anything physical with a lot of the guys I dated.
It's commendible and understandible to get picky, but don't over do your pickiness. You haven't had any experience with anyone in a dating situation, so, you really don't know which way to go as of yet.
My advice would be to get involved in activities outside of school with other ppl. A common interest(s) is good to have once you do meet someone who strikes your fancy.
For God's sakes, 19 is still young. Don't rush things. Concentrate on your work and be relaxed a little bit. Let life happen. Once you're confronted with these situations, you'll know better what and what not to do next time around.

I'll be rooting for you.....

Well, since I don't know you, I don't if there's anything wrong with you. However, there's nothing wrong in waiting for the special girl and moment, it will be worth it. I have 3 kids about your age. One is 24 married and family, my older daughter 21 just found the love of her life.and my younger daughter, 19, hasn't even been on a first date. I don't know if she's been kissed or not, but don't give up it will happened.
good luck

There is absolutely nothing wrong with you! I just had my first make out session last week (my second kiss) and I'm 16 which is barely 3 years younger than you since you say you just turned 19. Just let it come naturally. I noticed I wasn't really getting anything, and seriously, you've probably heard this 49340 million times, but when you least expect it, it will happen. Maybe you should give this girl at work a chance...who knows? Maybe other girls we'll see what a stud you are! ;-) Good luck! ^_^

I think this may be a fear issue. You don't know what it is like to have a girlfriend and so you are afraid to jump into the water and test it out. Let me tell you, having a girlfriend isn't all fun and games. Girls are very tricky at times, but the good times and comanionship are well and truly worth it! My advice would be to abandon the notion of trying to date the perfect girl (because perfect doesn't exist!). Find one you like, then give it ago - you will find out how rewarding quality time with the opposite sex is and you will learn from the experience.

If you're not waiting for someone special, why are you being picky? You can go out with girls as just a friend and learn to talk to a girl, you don't have to make out and be romantic.

Word of advice,
Girls talk, if she says you're a nice guy and she tells her friends you'll get points with those girls and those girl's friends and so on...at some point you'll hit the jackpot.

How does the saying go..."beggars can't be chosers?" Start making a plan and be more girl-friendly. You have to follow the rainbow to get to the pot of gold dear Irishblueeyes!!!

The girl at work...Are you not physically attracted to her or do you even know her personality? Try getting to know her and you may find after that you become attracted to her. There is more on the inside than on the outside. Try not being so picky also.

Being a girl myself I can only think of one reason!! No theres nothing wrong with you. Girls want a guy who is confident and sweet but not to sweet. You were saying you were shy but getting better.Get yourself out there and dont come on to strong!!!

Good luck to you!!

Is it possible that you are not attracted to her because you are afraid of making the next move? You have plenty of time, no need to hurry. There is nothing wrong with you. I would advise that you don't do anything that doesn't feel right. Best wishes.
