Limewire does not have viruses now a days.if the computer crashes it's because the RAM is less.
Frankly speaking it's not necessary that P2P softwares are viruses, but there is a high chance that the file you download can have viruses.
so just forget using p2p softwares.

Limewire is still the best and fastest p2p software out there, its based on java so your pc might be slow or shut down due to ram issues. a good antivirus, antispy and firewall should address any virus or malware threats. when you see a file make sure its rated or its shown as trash in limewire. download and scan with antivirus, shut limewire down after downloads.
there are plenty of software out there, getting the right ones is the trick. check this http://www.invisionplus.net/forums/index.php?mforum=a&showtopic=83 for free software reviews.

well actually I don't think there is, all P2P software I used, and trust me I used many, contained some form of a virus or spyware. You should use torrent it's so much safer. No virus or spyware or any of those stupid stuff. And besides P2P I think is slowly dieing, but torrenting is grow. Give torrent a try.

No, sadly enough there is NO p2p which is 'virus-free'. But using an anti-virus will keep your protected from getting any viruses. If you have got an anti-virus, update it and use its real-protection in order to monitor your computer 24X7. Also, scan for viruses every 8-10 days. If you don't have any anti-virus, then get this free one:
Avast: http://avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
It has a p2p-shield which will protect you from getting p2p-viruses. But it is also heavy on resources, so if you want a lighter anti-virus, get AVG which is as good.
AVG: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5#avg-anti-virus-free
Keep it updated, use its 'real-protection' or 'resident shield' and periodically scan your computer. That should keep viruses at bay.

Nope, there isn't, and even if there is..most people that put things up for download on the P2P put viruses in it..so u might end up with a virus anyways..plus...u have to be careful....or someone that's connecting to ur computer cn give u anything..even a trojan horse o.0...i recommend bittorrent for movies..and random other sites for music and applications

http://www.limewire.com/ is the most used free file sharing site. make sure you have anti virus running before swapping any files. the free edition of avg available from http://free.grisoft.com/freeweb.php/doc/2/ does a good job. once you have installed limewire do a search for limewire pro. then install this and delete the original. pro is faster.

There's shareaza. Its runs 3 networks the gnutella 1 and 2 network, bitTorrent and edonkey I think. You can get it off of here http://www.shareaza.com/. But I would only use that for music and videos. If you want to download apps and programs try
http://torrentbox.com/torrents-browse.ph... ,
http://thepiratebay.org/ , http://www.bittorrent.com/ , or http://katz.ws/. Just remember when you use torrent sites to download there progam to open and run the torrents. . But I would rather use limewure. Just dont download files with no sources

limewire is probably the best out there... but you shouldn't leave it open all the time, only open it when you need to and close out of it as soon as you're done
