There are several schools that will provide loans or financial assistance. Or you could always join the military!! Go to the federal aviation administration site, they have tons of links. I joined, did my time, and am out now, but I'm an aircraft mechanic. I too had used the FAA for useful information, that's also how we get licensed. check it out.

If you want to stay in FL and avoid the military, Embry Riddle is the school of choice for those that wish to become professional pilots. Flight training is not cheap, and most go through lenders. Federal education loans cover some, but not nearly all, so loans from other sources are usually necessary. If you're looking to become a professional pilot, this is a common route. If you're looking to simply get your Private Pilot's license, your local airport will have a course for under $5,000. Don't be discouraged or swayed by anyone claiming that the military is your only option. In fact, airline hiring from the military ranks is now a thing of the past. Over 90% of today's pilot hiring comes from flight schools. Good luck to you!

Getting a student loan is how most people do it. You should contact AOPA (Aircraft Owner's and Pilot's Association) they can help you out with information and I think they even have some porgrams for people who want to become pilots but can't afford it.

You can look into AOPA they might have programs available. There is also a company called Pilot Finance http://www.pilotfinance.com/ they offer financing for people that are getting their ratings, etc.... the flight school that I used to work at had a couple of students using pilot finance, its a great program!

Most of the people who did become pilots had this intense desire and little to no money, but they found a way. it's true, where there is a will, there is a way.

Go into the military and pass there test. You must be the brightest of the bright and go from there. In the real world most airlines hire from those ranks.
