Yes, it is still an abortion even if your niece or nephew was only 3 weeks old. At just three weeks after conception, the baby's heart is already beating. An unborn baby usually does not begin to feel pain until 7-8 weeks after conception (see http://www.advocatesfortheinnocent.com/fetalpain.html ), but it was still wrong for your sister to kill him or her. Shooting someone in their sleep is no less wrong than strangling them while they are awake.

Your sister is not going to be able to find any peace until she first of all admits that what she did was wrong. And, yes, there are consequences to abortion, physical, mental, and spiritual:

I believe that your sister would really benefit from going through the free online post-abortion Bible study available at http://www.healinghearts.org Many women have testified that going through the study finally brought them peace. It is totally Scripture based and will help her learn how she can receive forgiveness and will help her work through ALL of the issues surrounding her abortion. Your sister will be paired with a Christian email counselor, most likely a woman who has aborted a baby herself. There are also Healing Hearts groups that meet in some cities--check the website to see if there is one near your sister.

It might also help her to read this:

There is healing, but she needs to seek it out. Please ask her to try Healing Hearts.

If we evaluate a fetus a human, than we would desire to evaluate it homicide. 2d, merely because of the fact the regulation states its no longer homicide would not propose its no longer. many international locations have poor rules. as an occasion: In Suadi Arabia it is okay for a husband to rape his spouse, yet in Saudi Arabia its criminal. The governers snicker at human beings for thinking that a husband forcing his spouse to have intercourse is 'rape'. merely because of the fact the rustic doens't evaluate it rape, would not propose it is not rape. EDIT: surely, the regulation recognizes killing in self-protection homicide. They call it 'justifiable homocide'. @Dave, Wait, what makes you think of a fetus should not be seen human? And biologically, it is a sparkling existence from the 2d of theory. A fetus/embryo suits the 8 characteristics that biologists use to verify no rely if or no longer it is existence. And confident, there's a customary definition of what constitutes as existence. If there wasn't, than we would not have the skill to differentiate no rely if or no longer rocks have been 'alive'. A fetus and a guy's sperm is amazingly distinctive from eachother. you could no longer evaluate the two. the daddy is an organism with a great number of cells. dropping some sperm cells would not injury the organism, to that end we don't call it homicide. Abortion is killing each and every of the cells a fetus has, which kills the organism. to that end it is homicide. finally, the shortcoming to experience discomfort would not propose the fetus isn't human. there's a scientific undertaking the place already born people won't be in a position to experience discomfort. Does that imply they are no longer human the two?

Yes it is still an abortion if the baby hurts or not. It is not one of Gods children. A university does not make anyone get an abortion. There are moral reasons for abortions. Incest, rape, If the child will be deformed physically or mentally, if the mother will be endangered in the birth. Any other reason is cold blooded Murder. The mothers right to choose ended when she chose to have sex without a rubber. Of course the Supreme Court disagrees with me on this. So I bow to their decision. Roinin does not know what he is talking about. Doctors can detect pregnancy and you can have an abortion in three days. OO

I"m not sure why people think that at only three weeks it wouldn't feel anything. The first thing that developes in that "clump of cells" is the brain and spinal cord. Read any anatomy book on gestation. Therefore if the brain and spinal cord is the first to develop then it's pretty likely that it felt something. As to effects there are some physical effects that can be discussed with her gyno. most effects happen only if you have multiple abortions.
Her guilty feelings will not go away easily with out some kind of counseling either with her minister or a counselor. As to any bible statements... the only thing I can think of to say to that is that there is only "one unforgivable sin" and that is turning your back on God. According to the new Testement all sin is the same... to lie is just as bad as to murder... So anyone that wants to make her feel bad about what she did better make sure they have never committed a sin... ( Judge not lest ye be judged).

It's still called abortion. There's no way she had an abotion at 3 weeks, you can't even confirm pregnancy at that stage with a hime EPT. The fetus can't feel pain at 3 weeks, but prob couldwhen she had the abortion.

It's slightly possible that she can have damage to her uterus from the abortion, but somewhat rare.

1 in 8 babies is concieved as a twin. One twin is almost always reabsorbed by your body.

Something like 50% of all conceptions never come to term. She did no wrong. it happens all the time naturally.

Yes it was still an abortion. She needs to seek God's forgiveness. He WILL forgive her. Don't listen to anyone tell you it's just a clump of cells. A clump of cells that magically becomes a baby was a baby in the making. These people probably are looking to assuage their own consciences or something.

i personally believe that while it is only three weeks old, it is still during the main cell division and the brain has not begun to fully function. i personally think that three weeks is the max amount of time you can wait to get an abortion. i personally think that your might have done the right thing depending on her circumstances, but she should really be more careful during sex. abortions should NOT be taught as birth control. they should only be used during emergency situations where adoption is not an option. was this the case with your sister? i don't know.

a lot of people will tell you that abortion is a sin, but your sister should really talk to a priest that she trusts. and yes, it is still called an abortion.

She had an abortion at 3 weeks gestation? You're lying. Most women don't even know they're pregnant at 3 weeks. What's your point?

Looking to the Bible for help? Luckily for you, the Bible is written so incongrously that you can pick a statement for whichever way you want to believe.

Why look to the Bible? What is causing your sister's anguish? Grief over a 3 week embryo? Ask her if she feels bad picking her nose...there's more human cells in that booger than there is in a 3 week old embryo.

Go science before you go religion: science HAS to make sense.

Luke..1:41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

Mary had just concieved..no more than 3 days.

So, John felt the presence of Christ in the womb of Mary.
