sure, puppy love, infatuation...but nothing serious, not the rest of your life serious. Don't rain on her parade, though. Let her figure it out.

Well I have to say, I have a daughter who is now 21, and she is with the same boy she "fell in love with" when she was 14 (7th grade).
At first i did think it was infatuation, which at that age is completely normal (but if you tell your child they are just infatuated, they act like you are crazy and horrible and you just ruin their lives... anyway )like I said, I thought it was puppy love, and although all through highschool, they were off and on, they are together now, and I see how they look at each other and only wish I would have found love like that... so, is it possible? Yes, likely? I doubt it.... but then there are always those that break the mold. Whatever the case, just try to remember being that young and even though, to you, a 14 year olds problems may seem like minor things, to them they are the world, and I promise that the growning up and getting along, goes sooo much more smoothly if you just try to understand, listen, and be there as a support, not a dream smasher :)

As an adult and as a parent you know what true love is. Your daughter is just barely growing out of loving her parents to finding out it's possible to love outside of her family.
It's normal for her to feel that she is in love, but it's really just a sign of maturity that she is able to recognize that she is capable of love outside of just mommy and daddy and that she is preparing to one day be on her own, be independent and one day get married.
You should explain to her that there are different types of love, how that love can and should be expressed at her age, and the kind of love you share for your wife. Meaning, you share responsibilities, you work because you love your family and you want to save to go on family trips and make sure that there is food, clothing and a roof over her head. You can't lecture all of this at once, but give a little here and there, make her know that your love is what you do for the familly. Talk to her like that so that she gets a sense of responsibility associated with love.

I suppose she feels like she is in love, but she is so young.I got married real early too,but you grow up after you are 14 and it don,t usually last...I would not suggest you let her marry anyway soon....that will be the next step she will want to take.

at the moment she may think she is in love but really she is not, but the best thing you can do for her is to just go along with it as long as he is not like 20 or something. I should know i am 13

It's possible, but I woulldn't count on it lasting...if it does, good for her, but usually younger kids fall in and out of love every 30 mins...

yes, but her love will change many times throughout her childhood. we cause ourselve to love by our thoughts, if she thinks herself in love, she is. as people mature , her desires will change , that's why it's a good idea to keep that love in check. that she doesn't end up with baggage or scars.
