To migrate to Australia you will need to apply for a temporary residence visa. This allows you to work, pay tax, get a medicare card etc.
Once you have held this for 2 years, you will receive a Permanent Residency Visa. Once you have held this for 2 years, you can apply for citizenship.
Therefore, the whole process takes 4 years.
