Yes, a brothel can be like a spiritual place. Firstly it depends where each individuals head space is. It is only in recent history that the worlds "oldest profession" has been denegrated to the point where it is now punishable by law. Originally it helped women/men through various trials of life. A commaraderie is formed, where the people withing the brothel support each other and actually view the actions they perform as a function that is not otherwise provided for in the "outside persons" life. That our culture has does not accept it and make it a part of life, goes to show that in some instances we are not progressing as a species and have indeed regressed. There were many holy women/men within sexual type temples in eons past, they served a function and their community. They would have been accepted, especially if that particular belief system was not particularily patriarchal, as it is dominated now. So yes, you can find spirituality in many seemingly odd places. I believe they were in Ancient Greece. The Sisters of Athena, or something like that, used to get high off of natural gases (the temples were located on or near geothermal vents, typically) and prophesize. They offered "services" in addition to prophecy, but including state diplomacy (at some temples).
