Thou shalt not kill, follows the One law.
"By action thought or inaction do no harm."
Were all people to follow the law of man there would be no reason to kill.
The one god warned again of it though it's translation was lost.
Is it so hard to "do no harm"?
Killing in self defence for instance.Understandable and legal.
Pulling the plug on a machine is stopping the interfering with one's passing, it is no crime. The crime comes when the machine is hooked up.
Abortion is a crime! No matter the cause, because you seek to kill. You harm!
Suicide by any means is harming yourself. It is a crime against yourself and all that love you. You harm!

If someone is trying to kill me, and I defend myself, I'd say that's an exception.
I do not think suicide is justifiable, for any reason.
Pulling a plug on life support is complicated. If they are not really alive at all, and that machine is artifically keeping them alive, it's just not natural to begin with. So while I am on the fence, I just say it's different with each case.

the best translation is "Thou shall no longer assassinate". If a individual killed yet another by potential of twist of destiny he replaced into no longer under the impression of that regulation. There are different "secondary" regulations for those circumstances. One occasion is Ex 22:2. It tells us with regards to the guy who violates one's property. there are a number of extra regulations concerning to all factors of existence(construction a house, unintentional homicide and so on.). After Jesus got here he "upgraded" the regulation. He mentioned that a individual who makes use of insults against his brother is considered a murderer. The regulation is the comparable, even nevertheless it applies to people who've the attitude of eternal existence, no longer purely like the jews who lived purely 60-70 years. this is the regulation that God will use to choose people on the terrific Judgment. So, like I mentioned previously, Jesus "upgraded" the regulation to the recent demandings.

I would think that there are exceptions to this commandment, for ALL living things must survive on previously live matter that they or someone else has killed. No death = no life.

Obviously you're commanded to kill people who work on the sabbath (that's saturday, by the way), god has no problem with genocide, parents must kill disobedient kids, and prophets can send bears to kill kids who make fun of them.
