Perform this song for her.

She'll appreciate the effort.

Seriously though. Just be polite and give the honest answer. It's the only way.

Although she may not be grateful for it at first, telling the truth is always better. On the phone or in person. Someplace where she can hear the seriousness of your voice, that you really mean it. Trust me, in the end you will be helping her. Some people are fine right away, some take a little while, some take a long while, and some take a really really long while but she will get over it. It is like the reason we take history. We take it so we do not make the same mistakes again. The truth is important because then she will know what went wrong in the relationship, and how you felt about it. That she will not make the same mistakes again.

Your very nice to care enough to find other measures in preventing her to get hurt. I hope you will not lose this 'special personality' about you.
If you had a best friend that was exactly like you, what advise would you give this person? You know yourself best and your advise is most likely the right way to handle this sensitive situation.
Good Luck!
