hey, this happened to me. As hard as it was I carried the baby to term. The baby did nothing wrong. Nor did I. But, the baby is a real human being and is not the "bad thing" that happened. It is just a result of a rape at the right time in the month. I kept my baby and when I married my husband adopted him fully knowing the circumstances of his birth. This option isn't for everyone, I fully understand a women giving it up for adoption. But, from conception to birth a women is giving the extrodinary gift to be the protector of life. No matter the circumstances. Blessings

The only time I think abortion would be even near legitimate is in cases of severe health risks. Several years ago one of my friends was raped and got pregnant, and instead of being burdened by it she decided to turn the baby into a blessing. She ended up having a miscarriage and was greatly depressed. Even though its father was a piece of trash, that baby did nothing wrong and there is no serious reason to abort it. Even if she got an abortion she wouldn't forget that she was raped, and I would hope she has enough class like my friend to turn a burden into a blessing, and if it is too much of a burden for her to raise it, then she can give it up in adoption to make another family blessed. At least that way she could be assured that another family is happy that they have a child to raise. Any bad deed is capable of producing some good consequence.

I just answered a similar question. Here is what I said:
Even women who have been raped have no right to kill their unborn children. Why should unborn babies be punished for the crime of their fathers? They are totally innocent and do not deserve to die. They are not less worthy of life because of the circumstances of their conception. Would you shoot a three-year-old in the head because her father was a rapist? Of course not! Then why is the child in the womb fair game?
When a woman who has been raped commits abortion, she becomes the aggressor, hurting another innocent victim the way she was hurt. Rape is bad. Murder is worse.

Also, keep in mind that she is going to remember the rape whether she kills her child or not. Abortion does not erase the fact of the rape. It only makes everything worse.

Her MORAL obligation is still to give this child a chance to live. What happened to her will not be easier to deal with by adding the sin and guilt of murder on top of her trauma. If she gets counselling, she may even have a change of heart and decide to keep the baby. It wouldn't be the first time I've heard of that happening, although admittedly that takes an extraordinary woman to be able to want to raise and love the child herself. But at the very least, she MUST recognize that the BABY is NOT the offender, and is as innocent as she is and is MUCH more defenseless, and deserving of a chance to live!

>>it would be remembarance for her that she got raped<<
People never forget they were raped. Abortion cannot erase memories. The baby hasn't done anything to warrant the death penalty. If the mother does not feel she can rear the baby, there are many people who will jump at the chance.

IN most cases, when a woman is RAPED the ER takes care of any problem before the lady becomes pregnant. There are a number of people that want to attempt to confuse young Christians by questions like this. Why is that?? Counselling would assist the young lady with many remeberrings. I do not say that ABORTION is NEVER right but I do not believe in MuRdEr EiThEr! Have a great LORD's DAY in HIS SERVICE!

It is a woman's choice to exercise her God's given right of free choice to take or not take the life of her child, whether that child is still developing or already born. That are the choices God gave us. Whether or not the birth of the child is a result of a hardship is secondary to the matter. What if the night you got pregnant, the father of your child died of a heart attack while in the act? Would that memory be enough to warrant getting rid of it? Should the child also receive a death sentence for the act of a demented individual?
Memories are a part of life and nothing is going to stop them. Any sexual contact will remind her of what happen. Should she also become celibate to prevent being reminded of it?
Like I said, it is her choice whether to take the life of her child or not, but she should not think that doing it is going to change how she feels and thinks about what happened. If she firmly believes her action is less worse than his, than that is a fact between her and God. Just don't ever think that the one is any more or any less a violation of someones body.

I agree with abortion under the right circumstances...It is legalised in Australia so it is readily available for those who wish to undergo the procedure...I believe if a woman is raped or undergoes instances such as incest or sexual abuse then it should be a choice that they can take. Some people believe that women use it as a form of contraception. Maybe some do.....but in Australia it is extremely frowned upon to have more than one.
The real abortion issue comes down to the fact that some people consider the foetus a baby, some don't. It is one of those things that we may never know. I know alot of people who are against it preach "God wanted this to happen". Then what of God? Is the only way this child could be conceived through the violent rape of the mother?
A woman gets pregnant because of science and the human body...Im not saying I don't believe in God.....but don't bring him into it, because as far as I'm concerned if he wanted the baby he could of done a **** load more for it in the first place.

No, you have to put the kid up for adoption. Your killing an innocent life. Which make you just as guilty as the sick man who raped the girl. But you know what it doesnt matter with people having sex all the time now she is probly on birth control.

I absolutely believe that if a woman is raped she should have the option to abort the pregnancy. This woman did not ask to be raped, and as a consequence of that, she also did not ask to become pregnant. Why should she have to endure a pregnancy when every day she knows that she is carrying the result of a rape? Although, having an abortion itself may cause emotional distress, I think it would be worse to have a constant growing reminder of a crime that just may have ruined two innocent lives, the mother and the child.
