If it is a reputable cab company they should have records of all the drivers, so if you call tell them when you went on the taxi ride and where to and they should be able to tell you who drove you.

I lived in DC for 5 years and I usually use Diamond 202.387-6200

FYI DC taxis have their fares by zones, so the fare is fixed on from where you leave to where you arrive. If you get a Virginia cab they run on meters.

If you want to know the name of the driver of the cab you are sitting in, there should be a license including a photo and name affixed to one of the sun visors (usually passenger side). DC/MD/VA cabs all require the driver to display his/her license so if you don't see a license, then your cabbie is breaking the law.
