The soul is eternal. Only the physical body diminishes. It depends on your level of consciousness whether or not you ascend to the kingdom of heaven or reincarnate back into another physical body in order to raise your consciousness to the level necessary to return to heaven.

There is no such thing as a soul. The concept was invented by humans because we are all afraid to die and need some hope that death is not the end.

According to the Bible, it dies with the body. When the ancient Israelites sacrificed the lamb for their sins, they were to first slit its throat and allow its soul to drain out on the ground. As for the spirit of life, we share that with all forms of life, none being greater than the other. Everything that we were is recorded, or not, in the book of life, to be downloaded into a new body when resurrected. Whether that is a spirit body, like Christ, or a human body, like Lazarus, depends on whether you are born again or are of the other sheep.

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

It disappears with your death.Soul also perishes with death.I hope you mean life? or your inner self. Soul is a creation of man and he belives that it goes to heaven or hell according to most religions.. a supposition which has no basis.

when we die, our soul will wait in the grave for the Hour to come, the day of resurrection. but in the grave, If you are a bliever, time will be quick, and the grave is looking from a window to paradise and you will ask God to make it fast , so you can go to paradise.
If you are a disbeliever, yor grave will be narrowed on you until your bones brake, and fire will be the punishment, also a window on hell . the time will be so slow, and the disbeliever will ask God to make the time of the Hour little bit later.
then the day of resurrection comes, everybody is naked, people crying, asking what would happen, the fire will be brought close by, the sun will be brought close to the heads of people, people will be so thirsty......
again , time for the believers is depending on their faith in God, like for the prophets, it will be like seconds, for others minutes,...hours, like days.....years.....
then the judgment start, your deeds that were recorded in your life will appear to you in your books that the angels recorded. then if you pleased God, God will be pleased with you and accept you in paradise by his mercy. but your amount of good deeds will give you your level in paradise.the good ones in the 7th heaven.
some believers which worship God only with no partners, God will not be pleased with them, so they will go to hellfire, but the first level of it, less punishment that the others. but after a while they will be brought back to paradise in the lowest levels.
Satan will be in in the 7th level down, of hellfire, with him will be pharoe, because he never worshipped God and denied him and oppressed people. others atheist will be in the lowest levels, the polytheists in other levels depending on their deeds. nobody who worship others beside God will enter paradise.
In the hell they will drink boiled water because of thirst., the food is only evil things, bowing down on fire because they didn't want to bow down in this life.
God will ordonne that death will happen no more, so eternity for the people of paradise, eternity for people of fire.
May God make me and the believers from the people of paradise. Ameen
This is guidance, don't loose it, if you have a question about Islam, just ask. I just worship God the creator and nobody else, no created things.
May God guide us all.

What you think of as a "soul" is actually in your brain (frontal lobes, which determine your personality). You die, brain dies, "soul" dies.
