My parents are always complaing how i spend my whole day on the computer the reason for that is because they dont let me hang out. So I think because of them not letting me hang out i should talk to my friends online. But they say they neevr get to see me cuz the computer is in my room so i dont even go to talk with them except for dinnertime. I dont see what their problem is because all we do is sit in the living room and talk which is soo boring. And when they do talka ll they talk about is work. So how can i make them see id ont want to spend time with them and me being on the computer lets me be with my friends (talking) and it shouldnt be bothering them cuz its not causing any harm to anyone.

well, maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on your parents and just spend a little time with them. find some common ground. it's better to grow to like them instead of just resenting them

I know you must be extremely frustrated with your parents...but put yourself in their shoes. Parents can be boring..yes. But if they're so boring, why don't you try to help them? Maybe...see if they would like to play a game with you. Or maybe go out to special evening out in the city. Maybe even a walk with the dog(if you have one) or maybe even biking around town. All they want is some bonding time. They want to make sure everything is going alright with you. And I understand your view point, you want to talk to your friends. Of course you do!! Everybody needs friends. You could establish a certain time during the day that you would go on the computer...do your business, and get back to your family. Look, I know this is probably hard for you to understand, and maybe you'll look at it differently when someone else tells you.
All they want is to see you grow up in an appropriate way. haha...they probably miss you being so little and young! All they want is to see how you are. Give them the love. ;)

They get mad because they think you are pulling away. I might suggest a compromise that would benefit both. Agree to spend time with them each evening and also make sure there is time to either hang with your friends for a time or to spend time on the computer with them. There is no harm in either as long as when you are together you stay present with them and engage with them and the activity. Parents enjoy talking as much as you do. They will mostly not want to talk about things that you enjoy. However you can learn from it.

Next time when your at the dinner table and your parents are talking to each other butt in their conversation and say Im always on the computer because you guys don't let me hang out with my friends so I talk to them online. And Im sorry if I don't talk to you guys that much but you know I love you, I mean I see you two almost everyday but how often do I see my friends?? I have to see them because their my friends and I can only talk to them online and online I can't see them.
So thats why most of the time I don't spend that much time with you two.

Hi Hayley!!!
Your parents want to know you and feel that you are part of the fa. As you said yourself, you come out mostly for dinner time.
That is not enough to let them know and see that you are growing up, changing. The more you are and get to know your parents from a friendly aspect the more they will trust you and understand your needs.
It is imperative that you interact with your parents, for a healthy relationship. They are the ones who give you everything you have!!! They are NOT asking for much. Set aside times to help them around the house, making dinner or involve in some activity with them.
Think about it, you obviously don't realized how blessed you are to have loving parents, who care. Enjoy them while you can, "THEY ARE YOUR TRUE FRIENDS"!!! Feed you, worry, care, LOVE YOU!! Spend more time with them. You will never regret it, trust me!!!

They just want to show that they care for you. Keep in mind that there are a lot of scary things out there and parents, being parents, will worry. Also, though you are growing up, you will always be there child. They just want to ejoy the time they have left with you. You will eventually move out. Give them a break. Hang out with them at least once a week. It will make them happy and get them off your back.

you must be an only child. it sounds like your parents don't have any friends. you have to use psychology on them. talk to them for a little bit to make them happy and when you've got them in the palm of your hand you imply that you would be sooo happy if you could go hang out at so and so's house. or make up an excuse as to why your going over there. the key is you have to get them on your side first so they'll want to give you what you want.

Because once your around 18 you will move away, and they will barely see you. They are trying to spend as much time with you as they can before you go off to college or to wherever. And maybe, just MAYBE, they want to spend time with you because they love you. Crazy idea i know.

Just give them 10 minutes of your time...they love you, they want to know whats going on with you....that's not so bad....10 Min's a day with them...that's not a lot to ask....is it??
When your older you'll want to spend the time talking with them...

you need to talk to them at dinner and say that you feel they dont let you hang with friends so you go and sit on the computer , and tell them you dont understand why they are mad cause you feel they dont talk to you much just talk to them maybe they dont understand your feelings like you dont understand theirs
