The reason why I ask is that while I was taking it there are several days I do not remeber doing things like going out to dinner and a Christmas program. Also I dont remember small things, but since I stopped taking I'm back to normal and can remember ever detail about everything.

I started "Googling" this question as to whether Lexapro was in fact responsible, what i found was quite disturbing in my view , although the company that makes it , assured that memory loss occured only when an overdose was taken , i found many a forum mentioning stories from people that experienced like you , a "temporary outage" or loss of memory from time to time . In my view i would discuss this further with my specialist /doctor and possibly change meds.

I hope this info helps.

Regards

Did you tell your doctor? Lexapro is a SSRI! It's odd that you'd have memory issues, it should be just the opposite. Why were you prescribed this medication? Are you being prescribed this by a psychiatrist (MD) or a family doctor? If not you should be consulting with a psychiatrist for medication for long term use!

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor

Citalopram and other SSRIs have been shown to cause sexual side effects in some patients, both males and females. Although usually reversible, these sexual side effects can sometimes last for months. This disorder is known as Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction. Also may cause weight gain in certain people. NO MEMORY LOSS.

I've been taking it, too. But I can't remember if it causes memory loss.

Haven't heard about memory loss, but it does cause ejaculation retardation in males. "inability to ejaculate during intercourse".....but if you can't remember not getting off...who cares? She'll think you're a stud!
