That's what i hear, and from the looks of it, it seems true.

Dr. Albert. This is my first "abusive" post.
And, so everyone knows. I was trying this joke out. And from the looks of things it didn't go over very well. Therefore, i'm gonna leave it out of my presentation tomorrow. Thank you all.

I agree with UR2FRIGID. I have a patient who is a hygienist who lives in the UK. She flies home to the USA twice a year and I CLEAN HER TEETH. She said that nobody in the UK knows how to clean teeth. She tried a few offices for the first couple of years living there and finally gave up. We'll see how it goes though. Her dentist employer just went private. She said she is having a difficult time educating him about proper dental care, as his mind is still stuck in the NHS rut. Extractions are still his first line of treatment most of the time. She said, "He'll come 'round, I'm sure, once I get through educating him to save teeth." At least he dropped out of NHS. It's a start.

And, Johnny, no. The Snickers bar just melts in their hand. They use Callard & Bowsers.

That's not true, and it is not their fault.

All dentists I have talked to said dental care in England is horrible. In England, the dentists do not clean teeth over there the way we do in the USA and Canada. I know, it sounds crazy, but it is true. One of my patient's would get her teeth cleaned by her relative (dentist) in Canada. She told me that she has tried to find a good dentist in England but none of them clean teeth the way they do here.

In addition, the quality of the work is not so good. I saw horrible fitting crowns on a patient from England. If crowns do not fit your teeth properly, food/bacteria will accumulate under them and cause decay.

I know a dental hygienist who moved to England because her husband was transferred there. She said there are no jobs for her because cleaning teeth is not a priority in the dental offices. The dentist just does a quick cleaning above the gumline to make things look good but leave all the tartar/bacteria underneath the gum and in between the teeth. This leads to peridontal disease (gum disease).

I know this sounds insane but I have worked in dental offices since 1989 and I have seen the disgusting evidence of poor quality work which has been confirmed by all the dentists I have worked for.

Yes, it is true, there are some bad apples in the USA and Canada too, but for some reason the majority of dentists in England are not good.

OMG Yes! That's exactly right!

And for deodorant, they use Three Muskateers.

For soap, a bath size Heath bar is very effective.

thats gross. sort of like saying do all americans ask stupid questions. you are labelling and that is wrong not all of them have bad teeth. Lady Di had beautiful teeth.

Listen i get your humour but really that is the most tasteless question dont' generalize people. Maybe they don't have as good of dentist as we do. Boy aren't we lucky.

You'd be pretty stupid to brush your teeth with a snickers bar.

Its surprising because the Brits have universal health and dental care. Maybe they just don't make use of it.....

That's a pretty rude generalization.
It's like saying all Germans are Nazis and all Canadians fish in ice-holes.
