Well done babe. Have some self respect. your better than scag and all the other low life's. of course your gonna cough and shake, your body has been used to heroin for 3 years. I was addicted until i realised i was better than that, that was 10 years ago. Now Ive got two fantastic kids, a good career and a better knowledge of real life than any doctor or lawyer. hang in there kid.

You may want to ask your doctor for antidepressants to help you get thru this. Also,as others said, getting into rehab would be a great idea. Right now you need constant counseling, and you need to learn how to cope, and live without heroin, and that is not going to happen without professional help. If you are really serious about staying off the drug, and don't want to get into a live-in program, your local Family Services should have an intense out-patient program, where you can go 4-5 times a week, for, I think, about 3 hours a day.
Are you SURE you havn't done ANY heroin at all for a month? Because you shouldn't be having withdrawal symptoms, still. Please, get whatever help you can get. I am sure you know how hard this is to do on your own, and you will need the help, maybe even for years down the road.
I know all about this, because my son fought heroin addiction for 5 years. He would stop, go back, etc. The last time he did it, it killed him. I am only telling you this because you spoke of going back to it again. Please, don't do it. I know this is the hardest thing you have ever done in your life, and beleive me, I know how you are feeling. Fight it, but don't try to fight in on your own. The best of luck to you.

Firstly it sounds like you had a severe addition-you should go to a doctor and get professional help. You shouldnt do it alone. Not only will it have a negative (and sometimes dangerous) effect on your body-from giving up such a strong addition at once, but working with a doctor and other specicialists you will have the support and professional help that you need in order to get through this period in your life.

Youve already come far and not only admitted to yourself that you have a problem-but that you are trying your best to change, which is a positive thing. Focus on the positive things in your life, and think of how improved your health and your life will be after the symptoms are over.

You need to go to a doctor who will give you the correct medication that you need, and to lessen the heroin etc that you are given each time-so it is performed in a medical way, and not such a shock to the system.

Finally, try to confide in your family and close friends or join a support group with people who have been through or who are going through a similiar experience to yourself. Your not alone.

Obviousley, you know aswell as i do that you shouldnt have got yourself into this mess to start with, but at least your trying your very best to make amends :) I hope your not foolish enough to ever try it again!!

Dont give up, be strong and stubborn. What you put into something you get out of it.

Good luck!

First well done, you will be a nicer person and far more popular, i suggest seeing your GP or nurse , there are lots of help out there for withdrawal symptoms either natural or prescribed. If you do not have the confidence yet i suggest a high protein intake and lots of vitamin c. nibble on nuts and fruit.good luck and do not give up giving up you are worth it as a person . respect yourself it will be hard but also try to take up a new hobby for distraction purposes. Good luck

You can't, sadly.
How long have you been using? I know plenty about heroin because I have been forced to study it in school..
However, a MONTH ago?
That sounds insane. You shouldn't still be having hardcore detoxing symptoms.

How did you use? Chasing the dragon, shooting up, snorting...?? I think this affects detox.

DO NOT go back to heroin. Seriously.

Dear
you did a great difficult thing. rare people can be as strong as what you do. But because of all problems you say, the danger is very close to yo: yes, returning to heroin
meet your doctors and ask them for help. never leave specialists unless you feel a complete freedom from that bullshit.
good luck, god bless you buddy

A month is kind of extreme..It is either all in your head and you still fiend for it, OR you had a really bad addiction. Two of my closest friends were addicted to it. They had to check into rehab and get a prescription of Methadone to ween them off of it. They are fine now. Plz get some help tho. That **** is ******* whacked out man. You dont need that ****.

Get to an addiction specialist. Try narc-anon. Perhaps give clonidine or other non opiates that have addiction cessation properties. Do you have a sponsor? Call for help. Reach out to someone who is NEVER holding.

try to go to a local pharmacy or health centre eg health focus and ask them for the direction of drug team, they should be able to give you the details. you will then be assessed by the expert doctor and decide a programme to wean you off heroin; nowadays they use SUBUTEX or METHADONE, you need a PRESCRIPTION for this and the doctor and drug are more than happy to help you out, give them a go, good luck
