Request Lexapro. The doctor put me on this at the end of my first pregnancy and I've been on it ever since. I weighed 185 when I delivered and lost down to 135 in six weeks. I am now pregnant w/ my second, and I haven't gained as much weight as I did in my first (still taking Lexapro). Lexpro is just another variation of an SSRI like Prozac and Zoloft, but it has been proven in women to have less of a weight gain side effect. If you are breastfeeding make sure you tell your doctor though.

Just about everything out there has the potential for weight gain. I believe it all has to do with the chemical make up. I had the depo shot, every one said they gained wait, I didn't. When my doctors gave me something for depression, the first didn't but I stopped using it cause it didn't seem to work. I tried two other and I did gain weight. You need to also know that just being depressed will cause you to not care and that will help in adding on pounds. Just talk with your doctor, tell him your fears, and see if you both can work together to try to figure out which one is best for you.

Good Luck
