because angels are supposed to comfort us, and women comfort us (children) more then men.

angels are depicted as women because that way they are motherly figures, and no one comforts us more then Mommy :)

and in guardian angels, who protects children ???

Mothers :) so angels are mirror images of our mothers :)

They're of either. Angels want all the benefits, too. But I think I've seen them depicted as both genders (Nicholas Cage from City of Angels, Dela Reese from Touched by an Angel). Being a woman, you're just seeing what you want to.

In the Bible angels are depicted as men and have male names. Women are shown as angels in this culture to depict beauty, which of course women have(not all).

You're right, angels are asexual(for they shall be as the angels, neither married nor given in marriage). i think the depicition of angels as women is out of a desire to see angels as guardians, as protectors, and that most often in our society, is the role of a woman, our mothers.

I think angels were women cuz that means that Satan is a woman too because I have a sneaking suspicion that Satan is a woman!
