A home birthday party with family and a few close friends. You can have two cakes or have the bakery do half/half. What ever themes you go with you can find a color that goes with both "if you do two" and then decorate with that.
Mc Donald's is a great place for kids, Chickie Cheese if your looking for a place to go.
Ice cream party...check local places!

just have a backyard party with a theme that is universal like maybe a TV show they can both watc hlike blues clues or something. i'm not that into the shows the toddlers watch these days but when i was little my brother was turning 4 and i turned 1 and we had a clown party.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse.. get 1 cake with both of their names on it, and get your son a small seperate plain cake that he can dig into and get messy with... my first sons bday i baked cupcakes and baked him a kermit the frog cake and baked him a small chocolate cake that i gave him to dig into and get messy with..
dont forget to take alot of pictures.. its priceless to see him with his first cake between his toes, in his hair and up his nose.. lol they have so much fun making a mess ( you might not like cleaning up the mess) but what i did was put a old clean shower curtin under his high chair, and when he was done all i had to do was roll up the shower curtain and throw it away.. and give him a long bath before he opened his presents.. lol

A luau, or a cow boy/girl theme! They are more fun because the tv/movie themes are common and get old. They can attempt the limbo play tropical music indoors, have fruit, and get little grass skirts. Good luck!

three and one are vastly different ages and there is not many things both can do. Why not give one a party one weekend and the other child the next weekend.

i think just a little get together with friends and family would be great. have cake, open presents. go tobogganing.. just something simple.. Congrats on the timing of the birthdays. i think thats great.
