I am looking for a church denomination that is super traditional and conservative, and is not plagued with internal divisions and in-fighting. Please don't say Southern Baptists or the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. They are both full of internal divisions and internal debates and arguments over Christian teachings. Please don't say the Assemblies of God, since I do not believe in Pentecostalism. Thank you.

Wow, kind of hard to answer your question. I would suggest you check out either the Evangelical Lutheran Synod or the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. As far as I know, there is no internal division, unless you are talking about NFL football!

You do remember you're talking about the Christian Church? The very fact that the denomination exists is testimony that there was a division with another denomination. The Church has divided like Amoebas since the reformation. There have been some mergers that have taken place, but if you insist on finding a denomination that is devoid of schism, you're going to be out of church for a very long time.

If you want to go to church, consider finding a congregation that you feel at home in. You can find out from the members how they deal with conflicts.

Honestly, they're probably not conservative enough for you, but if you want a church whose governance is designed to handle conflict without division, the Quakers are great.

Good luck. All Churches, like families, have their little spats. What don't you try the Russian Orthodox, or another branch of the Eastern Orthodox, they are the true church you know. They are so conservative that women can not even vacuum around the altar. No woman priest there!

A good place to start is to attend a service and talk to the priest. They will tell you about the faith. Seriously they have their roots in the early church, no one is more conservative or more true to the Gospels as the Orthodox.

(I am an Episcopalian and we are on the brink of divorce in this family, so you don't want to look here.)

Foursquare. Strictly Bible-based, very open worship, and it's a network-type of church so all the Foursquare churches are in touch and get together in big groups as often as possible. We're big on the God's-family thing and outreach is first and formost.

Mine is involved in COTM, Church on the Move, a city-wide church group that includes ours *Life Foursquare*, two Babtist churchs, a Catholic church, a couple methodist ones, a non-denom, a New-something, a Lutheran, and La Vida, our Spanish church under Life, so we're very big into the idea that regardless of the little details, a Christian is a Christian if they believe and repent. You get into heaven through God's grace and God's grace alone, the Bible is the literal truth of God, yada yada yada.

Check it out: www.foursquare.org

The Foursquare Church believes in the following:

The Bible as the inspired word of God
The Trinity
The atoning death of Christ for sinners
Salvation through the grace of God by Faith Alone in the Lord Jesus Christ
The necessity of repentance
The new birth (Sanctification)
Baptism by immersion
The memorial of The Lord's Supper as church ordinances
The baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of Speaking In Tongues
Divine healing
The imminent return of Jesus Christ
Final judgment

-our beliefs are in line with the Bible and the Bible alone, best way to be, eh?

God Bless!

Eastern Orthodox, Church of Christ (not to be confused with the United Church of Christ, which is more liberal), Church of the Nazarene, Primitive Baptists, Regular or General Baptists (these groups are lesser-known than the Southern Baptist Convention, but they're definitely out there...the Primitive Baptists are quite conservative--look them up online), Mennonites, Moravians, and many more.

I would just look for a good Bible church whose main concern is teaching the Word. If you can find and Assemby of God that isn't too big, you'd probably be ok. there are some assemblies of God that are not "pentecostal" but are more traditional. you just have to search.

You want the Eastern Orthodox Church.

Other options:

Maronites, Melkites, Monophysites, Old Calendarists, Uniates, Nestorians, Malabarians.

Baring those, go with the Roman Catholics or Episcopaleans.

You might want to look into an Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA) congregation; or, you might consider the Mennonites. Here's a place where you can learn more:

and
http://www.efca.org/
and
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mennonite
and

Note that there are many different flavors of Mennonite, some much more liberal than others.

Best wishes.

Honey you are looking to a body made up of humans.Jesus is the hear of the church. If you are looking for perfect ,forget it.We are human ,and we still sin,we still fall short of the glory of God.Please don't set yourself up for a big fall.
You should try the Assemblies of God,you might find the truth. The truth shall set you free.

So why could we trouble approximately Palin's denomination? you could no longer have it the two approaches. It the two concerns or it would not. %. a stance and stick to it.
