Just tell him the truth. Tell him you really care for him but you're not sure you love him. You shouldn't be afraid to love. It's always a risk, but the rewards are worth it. If it wasn't so good, it wouldn't be such a gamble.

I think that your bf may have done something that make you feel hurt and gradually your love to him also faded away. You have to face this problem and tell him the truth rather let the issue dragging on. It is better to sort this sort of thing earlier rather than keep on dragging before things turned out worst.
