A Christian friend of mine is married to a Buddhist, and they've been together for ages. They're quite happy.

Humans can do whatever they want because God gave us a free will. The Bible does teach that Christians should not be "unequally yoked". This teachs that Christians should marry only Christians.
In our everday relationships, Christians should befriend all people regardless of religion or race or anything. When Jesus was on the earth, He talked with prostitutes, politicians, tax collectors and all type of people. It is his desire that all people come to a personal relationship with Him. Hope that helps!

a christian can marry anyone they want, but most times they marry another christian, however, the unbeliever the christian marries may become a believer, this is all in the Hands of God A christian is not always discouraged from being with unbelievers, being like unbelievers and sinning is what is objected to, chiristians are actually encouraged to go to unbelievers homes to have dinner, and be a wittness for God,

Christians can marry whoever they want to. The Bible even says so.
1 Corinthians 7:12-14
12 But to the rest I, not the Lord, say: If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. 13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy.

A true Christian is one who believes that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that He died on the cross for us so that our sins can be forgiven if we accept Him as our Savior. With that in mind ask yourself are you following the Bible when it truly states that let ye not be unequally yoked. The word Christian has the keyword to your faith CHRIST.Romans4:11 says "every knee shall bow and every mouth confess to God. (Acknowledge Him to His honor and to His praise) Bow down to the LORD not Buddha

If you mean legally, then yes.
However, a "good" Christian shouldn't marry a Buddhist (or anyone else outside of their religion) because they will be unequally yoked.

It depends on the denomination of Christianity. They may not be able to have a church wedding if they are Catholic. But it is not considered problematic in some other churches.

No it is not true. Depends on the denomination. Do you know any cute single old guys that are Buddhist? (Monks don't count. I know too many of them now.)
