I have the feeling that no one realizes a few truths. In Mexico only Mexican citizens can own beach front property. Also, an american can be deported, even though they are there legally, at any time for no reason. For example, Mexican citizens are ENCOURAGED to make citizen's arrest when they feel it necessary. I believe that the stress that they bring on OUR economy which is, namely, not paying taxes. Then at the same time they are taking tax paying benifeted programs, like welfare, which is detrimental to our society, and to all that are LEGAL citizens. It is sad that Americans that actually need the help are unable to get it. I say as RESPONSIBLE AMERICAN citizen it is our DUTY to report these individiuals and have them deported. If theyare repeat offenders they should be delt with accordinally. What do you think?

I'm not only targeting Mexicans. It was just an exsample. Russians and people of western Europe are just as bad. I have personal experience of this. However, it is easier to skulk across a border rather than fly across it.

Critics say Social Security deal would give billions to Mexicans
Federal officials insist it would cost only $105 million for the first 5 years

THERE ARE ALREADY OTHER AGREEMENTS

The United States already has Social Security deals, known as totalization agreements, with 21 countries. The agreements are designed to relieve multinational workers from having to to make two social security payments, one in their homeland and the other in the country where they work. Workers can count their years of work in both countries to qualify for benefits.
The agreements, chiefly with European countries, Canada, Japan and Australia, have been largely free of controversy. The Social Security Administration estimates that it nets more than $600 million a year in payroll taxes under the system, and in 2004 it paid $206 million to about 102,000 foreign beneficiaries.

WASHINGTON — A confidential 2004 agreement between the United States and Mexico could require Social Security to pay billions of dollars in benefits to Mexicans who paid payroll taxes in this country, according to a senior citizens' group that forced the document's disclosure.

The Social Security Administration insists that the agreement — which has yet to be signed by President Bush and sent to Congress for consideration — would cost the retirement and disability fund a relatively scant $105 million annually for the first five years.

But the TREA Senior Citizens League, an offshoot from a group of retired military personnel, and some members of Congress contend the agreement opens the door to paying benefits to millions of Mexicans who have worked illegally in the United States, as well as their dependents, even if they now reside in Mexico.

Government sued

After government officials refused for more than three years to release the document, the seniors advocacy group obtained it by suing the Bush administration. TREA embargoed the text for release today.

Illegal immigrants aren't eligible for Social Security. But their work history in the United States would count toward eligibility for benefits if they eventually obtain legal residence. Congress is expected to consider this year a bill giving most illegal immigrants a chance to qualify for citizenship, and President Bush backs the general concept.
"We could have billions, maybe tens of billions, being paid out to people who have been here illegally," said TREA Senior Citizens League spokesman Brad Phillips. "And we don't know where that money is coming from. And we don't know how much money we're talking about because the Social Security Administration isn't telling us."
The Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, also has questioned the Social Security Administration's math and assumptions, saying the payouts could be much higher than the agency claims.
"The Social Security Administration itself warns that Social Security is within decades of bankruptcy, yet they seem to have no problem making agreements that hasten its demise," TREA chairman Ralph McCutchen charged.
The organization has a membership of 1.2 million.
The deal with Mexico has been challenged on and off Capitol Hill as a potentially huge drain on the Social Security trust fund and a possible magnet for more illegal immigration.
Defenders of the agreement argue that it is a matter of fairness.
"It's only for people who have paid into the system," said Josh Bernstein of the National Immigration Law Center, a pro-immigrant advocacy group.
Social Security Administration spokesman Mark Lassiter said the agency had to work through "legal questions" before releasing an agreement that has yet to take effect.
Under the agreement, Mexicans could qualify for Social Security after 18 months of work in the United States. But first they would have to reach a total of 40 quarter-years of work — as required of all full-time residents of the United States — with work in Mexico, Lassiter said.
And, he stressed, the U.S. share of their benefits would be calculated based on their work time in the United States rather than their overall work history.
During consideration of a major immigration bill last year, the Senate narrowly rejected an amendment by Sen. John Ensign, R-Nev., that would have denied Social Security to illegal immigrants eligible for legalization.
Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who voted for the proposal, said Wednesday, "My record is clear: I do not believe that those who engage in illegal activity should benefit financially for their illegal actions."

Deal in limbo

It's uncertain when the administration would send the agreement to Congress. The deal has remained in limbo ever since its signing in 2004.

Lassiter said the administration is waiting to receive diplomatic "notes" from Mexico that would further clarify the issue of benefits for illegal immigrants. "There has never been a response from them," Lassiter said.
A Mexican government official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said consultations continue.
"We believe that this agreement will provide substantial protections for both Mexican and American workers," the official said.

The problem with this type of question is that it elicits answers that demonstrates that Americans in general are becoming intolerant not just of illegal immigrants but of any people or cultures different than them. It's beginning to look and sound in this forum as if, if you're different or if you're trying to bring a different culture here period, it will not only not be tolerated, but that Americans(you) will make it a point to make sure these people know, this includes legal immigrants unfortunately. It's really very rude, and getting pretty old and whether you all like it or not it's very UNAMERICAN!! And worst still is that your children will learn to be intolerant from you, how irresponsible is that?!

I agree, illegals should be sent back and the borders should be tightened. If you want to be a citizen than go through the process and pay your taxes. If you are an Illegal than leave and wait your turn,,,just because you are from a bordering country does not mean that you can com here an exploit our country.

We don't need the cheap labor...we accept it..remember that..soon enough we won't accept it and then life will be back to normal here in the U ....S..Of ....A

We musn't! We absolutely must NOT tolerate it. Mexican people are victims of their government and of their own culture. Over half their population was born AFTER Reagan granted amnesty in 1986.

Cruel to say, but only they THEMSELVES can fix this. Yet they won't till we lock our border.

Of greater importance, here, is that our constitution does NOT grant citizenship to aliens born here. The Supreme court MISinterpreted the 14th amendment on numerous occasions giving us the conundrum we battle against today.

Reporting them will do little good. Americans must sit unmoving on every major freeway, highway, runway and railway with bottled water and basic food supplies till the WFW (World Federation Washington) surrenders governance to the people.

And don't you know that if the founding fathers could come back, they'd sit as staunchly as us all.

You shouldn't discriminate against us so much. I am a minor living in the US, but I am considered illegal. It is pathetic for you to blame illegal immigrants with taking up the US tax dollars via welfare. Not all illegal immigrants are on welfare, just as not all Americans are on welfare. And it is not all Hispanics (more specifically Mexicans, as you've seemed to blame) who are illegal - that is very racist of you to assume. I am Canadian, actually, and the only reason I am still illegal is because an American Officer screwed up somewhere i the paperwork. My mother and her husband are both American, but your country makes it incredibly difficult for me and people like me to actually to become citizens of. Furthermore, it is illegal for me to leave the country, because I have my Alien Residency application pending and it will also be terminated if I go back to Canada, so no matter what I do it is illegal for me to be here and for me not to be here. And it is not just me that is stuck in a position like this. There are many illegal aliens, such as myself, that have the exact same problem, so do not judge people and what they do unless you have any idea what it is to be like them and in their position.

There is a influx of illegal chinese too, coming by way of mexico and by way of canada illegally... its on the rise big time.

I think the chinese have an agenda and they are going to use the Mexicans. My friends knows of a teenage girl who saw this in a dream, the Mexican looking men & chinese invading us.

I beleive there is something up..........

If this changes, it will be thru a civil war because too many americans are sleeping.........just not even aware. Distracted by media lies and their comforts. I"m worried sick about this.

But, I personaly beleive that what brought this on is our own wickedness, if this nation were to repent and turn back to God then I think we would have his protection once again. Right now, its gone.

The only reason illegal immigrants are in the US is because industry, agriculture and other menial labour jobs has become addicted to cheap labour. Of course the social cost of their activity will rest upon the taxpayer. If you are aware of an illegal receiving welfare you should report them.

Americans toleratre illegal immigration because they can find people that are willing to work hard for very low wages and do the jobs that most "real" Americans would never think about doing. Americans need others to do their dirty work for them. Americans take advantage of the immigrants more than anything else...the Mexicans and other immigrants work in the farms, in the factories, on the docks, in the hotels and restaurants...It's the immigrants that keep this country running, without them you wouldn't be able to have food on your table, or gas in your car...that's why immigrants are tolerated.

OK, two things...
First, even the US budget office concludes that illegal immigrants produce a net INCOME to the US treasury -- they pay more in than they take out in benefits. So your reasoning is flawed.

Second, the reason there are Americans who need government financial assistance and can't get it is because ... a)the current administration doesn't care about Americans that need help b) we currently pay nearly $1 billion PER DAY in interest on our national debt (which, by the way, is more than every illegal immigrant in the country used in total government benefits for the entire year -- and we blow that in ONE DAY. Aren't you concerned about the wrong waste of money?).

Americans tolerate illegal immigration in order to have lettuce be in supermarkets at $0.59 a head. This is an ECONOMIC issue, plain and simple.

Finally...why do you point to Mexico? The majority of illegal immigrants are NOT Mexican.
I'd suggest you actually learn something about an issue before ranting about it.
