I am sorry for your loss.. that sucks...
however it fustrates me when peole seem shocked when their outdoor cat either dies or goes missing. What did you expect??? Take responsibility and keep her safe and indoors and you will rarely have this problem..
Sorry to be harsh... but save yourself and your cat the pain next time.

Cats are really good at pulling off their own collars. By all means keep looking and keep calling. She may be injured or up a tree, or stuck in someone's garage, and if you call her at a time of day or night when it is quiet, you will have a better chance of hearing her if she answers. Don't give up. We had a cat missing for 3 days and it turned out he was so badly injured by a raccoon that he couldn't walk. Finally he crawled out from under a bush in our back yard and we rushed him to the pet emergency room. He's ok now ($600.00 later). Don't stop looking and calling! I'd say if a week goes by, I'd accept it as a "learning experience". Someone may have picked her up and kept her.

Hon...do not give up hope yet. Cats often get out of their collars...unfortunately, it will be hard for anyone who might find her to ascertain that she is yours.
If she's a kitten, then she's too young to be outside on her own, especially at night...but that's water under the bridge. You need to:
Put up posters, which you say you've done. They need a picture of her, and the word "REWARD" gets a lot of attention.
Check all your local shelters at least once a week.
Hand out flyers around your neighborhood. You can get them made at Kinko's for very little money if you don't have a printer.
Place an ad in the classifieds of your local newspaper.
I hope that you find Chloe. Best of luck...and please, keep her indoors if you find her.

good news is, the cat is probably alive, cause there is NO WAY in the world that a cauller could be found, but no body of the cat anywhere near it, someone probable found her and took the caller off and kept her.
Bad new is she prolly won't be back
More Good news is- if what i said first was true and the person that took her lets her out, cats have a great sense of direction, and she might come back.

I once lost my Cat the same way you did. It is devastating, especially because kittens don't have as much "Street smarts" as adult cats, so I had only little hope for the safe return of my little Guy. After a couple of weeks, I pulled into my Driveway and there he sat- as if he was waiting for me to come home. Don't give up hope, maybe you will find him. Good Luck

So Sorry!! I had a cat that didn't come home one morning. I dealt with it by thinking he found another home with a girlfriend & didn't come back. Just keep going out & calling him, make sure he isn't up in a tree, sometimes kittens can't figure out how to come back down. Usually they will be meowing if they are stuck in a tree.
I hope you find her.

Sorry for your loss. Finding the collar is not a good sign. Maybe consider getting a litter box and making the next cat an indoor cat.

Most likely if you found her collar..then some little kid picked her up..took the collar off and took it home to beg mom to let them keep it since it's "no one's pet"
You really should keep cats indoors at all times...much safer for them..and there's no chance of ever losing them. Plus there are other stray cats out there spreading disease and of course will fight with your cat. Why take that chance with your loved one?

I'm sorry for your loss but why did you let you kitten out at night if she was just a kitten? It doesn't make sense to me!

Call the pound, just in case. My condolences.
I had one cat that was missing for a whole week. He climbed in someone's car for a ride. He came home fat, clean and sassy.
