People who have no definite knowledge of this should not answer.

In order to have your husband enter the US to become a permanent resident, the form that you would need to file is called the I-130 Petition for a relative, fiance, or an orphan. Along with the I-130 you will need the form G-325A, which is biographic information for your husband. This form is free of cost and you will need to print it out twice--4 copies for your husband, 4 for you...

After the I-130 is approved, it will be sent to the State Department's National Visa Center. The NVC will then pre-process your application and forward it to the appropriate US Consulate or Embassy of where your husband is located.

If you are a permanent resident, your husband will then have to wait until his priority date becomes available. The priority date is basically based on when you file the application... The sooner you apply, the better chance your husband has of coming here sooner as well. It could be several years, however, and if you would like to check into the current priority dates, you can check the Department of State's website at http://www.state.gov.

If you are your US Citizen, your husband has precedent over everyone else... He will be automatically invited to apply for his immigrant visa to enter the US as a Permanent Resident. When he enters he'll receive a Welcome Notice & soon after, his actual card. The process really depends on the US Consulate and how long they will take, after the petition is approved.

I hope Ive helped out a bit... For more information you can contact USCIS' National Customer Service Line, open from 8am-6pm all throughout the US. The number is posted on the website at http://www.uscis.gov. You will find more information on there as well.
