The best way to find out is ask, but don't come off too pushy. Make the inquiry casual, as though you could take or leave the information; be blase about it. If you don't think you can do it this way, see if another friend of yours could ask him, but the main thing is you don't want to scare him away or make him put up a wall towards you.

i say just ask him, if i was in the same situation, i might not have the guts to do it, but just give it a try. you'll never know unless you ask him. just don't put off something that you might regret later on.

well, im alexandria from phil.im also experienced that you can know that your friend has a feelings to you when he/she always talk to you/when he/she be3came jealous if you have a boyfriend/girl friend.....

i dont know how but i guess..you'll just feel it.you'll see it in his eyes,you'll recognize it from the tone of his voice,you'll see it in his actions.etc.
