One day at Pacifica Pier in CA I witnessed the craziest catch ever: In case you don't know Pacifica Pier is one of the few places where one can catch salmon in the ocean during the right time of year. The Filipinos take over the end of the pier which I suppose is the best spot and we were fishing from the short part of the |- shaped pier so could see the whole thing. Some guy hooked a salmon and began to real it in fiercely because otherwise the sea lions will take it, as if they can't catch the salmon on their own, but wait until one is hooked to pounce. As the salmon became visible near the pilings and the guy's buddies were readying the crab net on a long rope to scoop it up, a sea lion appeared, some other buddies started shooting at it with a pellet rifle, the net scooped the salmon but on the end was also a cormorant bird, which if you don't know dive down into the water, but we never saw it dive in, so it must've been down there a long time, then the sea lion got the salmon off and swam away, but the cormorant was hooked onto the line and the whole thing had gotten tangled up in the crab net. So they had to pull it all up and cut the cormorant free.

In 1996 while fishing at Paul Park 8:PM, using a Pieces of Hotdog for Catfish, my pole bent and I hookd a Conga Eel.
The eel swallowed my hook so I decided to get my tire iorn out of my truck and kill it so that I could get my hook back and the most bizarre and unthinkable thing happen.
When I hit that eel on the head with the trre iron, she sarted to squirm and scream and I dropped the tire iron and backed off saying to myself "What the fv**".
It scared the hell out of me. I have never seen a snake or eel cry or scream like that...it was almost a live mammal in a sense.
I went home and told my wife, this place has eels that cry and I didn't like it.
These Conga Eels have two little feet towards the front of their body as if the transformation form land to water takes place.
It is totally shocking and I have not for got it today!
Now the baby ones I heard are good for cathing Stirped Bass, but I prefer artificial lures myself after that incident.

We only caught a one-eyed blue cat the different day. How humorous. The maximum unearthly element I even have ever caught have been salamanders that stay interior the water. I caught one in Wyoming and one in Arkansas. the coolest element I ever observed somebody else capture became a 4 foot long eel that my uncle caught in Arkansas. We capture fairly some massive Logger Head and mushy Shell Turtles hear too. One time my dad lost his fishing pole collectively as in a boat out interior the midst of a lake, so he went back to camp and retrieved yet another pole, went back out the place he lost it and spent all afternoon casting and reeling in until he finally snagged it.

I caught a sea gull once, but the weirdest would have to be the otter that I hooked into, after one hell of a battle I pulled it up on the bank, big mistake, the damn thing growl and came after me. I reeled up tight and used the length of my rod to keep it away from me, it finally turn back towards the river and started pulling again, so I broke my line, that viscious little sucker can keep the hook.

I never caught it but I was at a dock and a little kid was fishing when he started to scream that he had a big fish. His rod was bent and everything. He reeled it in and it turned out to be a big plastic bag filled with water. It was funny.

A large dog caught on a floating Rapala in a public campground lake. I didn't reel him in; he got spooked when he tried to eat it I guess and he swam for the bank, ran out of the water, and went directly to his owners campsite while I steadily fed him line. His owners got the three trebel hooked plug out after several mins. then he (the dog) and I made friends. He was a huge golden retriever named Abe.
