"ex" amd "former" are 100% same or not?

for example.
1.ex-husband,former husband
2.ex-president,former president

these are completely same or not.

I am little bit confused about them.

former to me means the one before.
John F. Kennedy would be an Ex-President
Bill Clinton would be the Former President

ex to me is something that is no longer.

Former means preceding in time or the first mentioned when tow things are mentioned.

Ex means before, previous, past, or gone.

The examples you used are correct in the right context. However, you could have an ex-husband who was not a former husband. In order for him to be a former husband, the woman would have to have remarried.

They mean the same. Former is used in formal context while ex is used in colloquial caes, but these days this distinction is ending.

they mean the same...ex has a slight difference in meaning in that it carries a little more emotionally negative weight (not much)...
