As a 47 man who lives alone my doctor just advised me to take up a diet to prevent diabetes, he said my glucose level was 6.9 & I should cut sweet things out, along with pasta, potatoes, bread, eat more vegies than fruit, but as a basic Australian diet I dont eat any take away foods at all, I cook everything. I use healthy olive & canola oils for cooking what else can I do, is thier a web site that I could find diabetic friendly recipe's? I tried google but that was as much help as hip pockets on a G'string! (a thong in USA) thanks for all the help.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

What you really need to watch out for is carbohydrates. It is the carbs that turn to sugar in your blood. Obviously suger turns to sugar in your blood, but as your doctor mentioned many other things do also. Potatoes, breads, noodles, chips, crackers, fruits, and various others are all going to become sugar in your bloodstream as they break down.

Your best bet is to read up and understand diabetes before you worry about recipes. You need an understanding of the glycemic index for sure and the other factors that can help to prevent you from developing diabetes (like exercise, stress reduction, small portion sizes).

I've been diabetic for 10 years now and taking shots for it for 6 of the years. If I were you I'd try to avoid it with all of my power!

Check these links for more info, The first has an overview of the disease, talks about the harm it can do to your heart and kidneys etc, and has a whole section for recipes.

Good luck sir! I hope you can keep yourself from developing this awful disease!:

Was your hemoglobin A1C 6.9??? The absolute best source for accurate information is the American Diabetes Association - http://www.diabetes.org
You can get a new recipe every day, there are chat groups and support links and NO snake oil salesmen or "miracle" cures. Go with the leader of diabetes info - cutting out sweets alone is not going to prevent diabetes, if you don't already have it.

Best of luck to you - diabetes is an epidemic that is killing more people than breast cancer and AIDS combined.

You should watch sugar and the carbs.Eat smaller meals about 6 times a day.Like 3 meals and 3 healthy snacks.I used to not eat much except for one big meal a day and that was not good.
