You train a shih tzu just like you would train any other dog...
for bathroom you must be attentive to them 24/7.tell your dog to go potty when you take them outside.. then when they are done give them a treat and say good potty.If he or she has peed and you want them to go .. well you know POOP then say now go poopie dear sweet shih tzu..keep repeating this proccess and soon your shih tzuu will scratch on the door when he/she needs to go out. For sleeping.. if your shih tzu is a puppy at first i reccomend crate training them for the first couple weeks.. yes they may cry bloody murder.. but you got the dog yuou need to train him/her. then after a few weeks either buy the dog a bed or let them sleep with you..near your face..preferably on your bed near your face..they like that...hope you like kissessss:).....this should help

train a shih tzu (proper spelling) for what? search and rescue? agility? duck hunting? what? if it's in general then the same way you would any dog. find a trainer that meets both your and your dog's training style. be consistant.
