When I ask people to give me a thumbs if they are proud of their homosexuality, I get a lot of people giving me thumbs down. There are so many homosexuals here, and this is very good, but it seems to be such a disproportionately large number--why is that?

Give me thumbs down if you are proud of your homosexual orientation.

I would imagine because the people who give gay ppl the hardest time tend to be religious. If I were gay I'd come on here to talk about those issues too.

I think there are a couple of reasons. First, most people, well, in the United States anyway, are predominately self-defined as spiritual or religious in nature. So, that would include Queer people as well as others. But you raise an interesting point -- perhaps there is a disproportionate number.

I know personally, I am Unitarian, Queer and and Atheist. I often answer questions that are in the religious section but it's mostly by chance. I select questions to answer that I find interesting from those that randomly appear when I click on the "Answer." button at the top of the Yahoo! Answers page. Many questions that are categorized in the religious section are critical of Queer people and/or of Atheists -- both issues of direct interest to me. So, in that sense, I'd say I and possibly we are drawn to questions in the religion section because of the content of the questions that often appear here.

That's my guess or at least my application of my own experience to other responders.

Ha, nice trick to get rid of the downvotes! If homosexuality wasn't being targeted by so many religious people, there probably would be less in that section.

The homosexuals add an interesting perspective to R&S. They also lend some intelligent conversation to otherwise drab religious stuff.

Yes - I am one and you know what - I am an Orthodox Catholic and I am proud of my faith. I would rather share the message of the TRUE GOSPEL of Jesus Christ here rather than let it be dominated by disgusting Protestant heretics like some of the folks on here.

Let me tell you all now - heresy is real and is being committed every day by Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, Franklin Graham and their evangelical ilk. What they preach is total HERESY. Christians need to return to the One Holy Catholic Church and leave the heretical dungeon which is Protestant literalism.

Somehow the eunuchs must be balanced also. I can't really tell who is of what orientation. Is there a secret font or something.I do notice there are a lot of people here. Maybe all of them are interested in----religion.

Well the encompassing section is society and culture, which has subtopics of LGBT, as well as religion. So many of them will be in the religion section because it is in the same larger category as the gay and transgender section.

They will never be satisfied without a stamp of approval from the Catholic Church. But the doctrines and dogmas of the Catholic Church are guarded by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the Catholic Church will never give a stamp of approval to their chosen activity.
