Actually, the Bible doesn't say anywhere that masturbation is wrong. The original story is that a man named Onan had a married brother. Onan's brother died, so Onan was made to marry his brother's widow and get her pregnant (laws of the land). Onan really didn't want to do this, but he had to, so after Onan was married to his brother's widow, he had sex with her. While having sex, he grew so upset at what he was doing that he pulled out of his new wife and ejaculated on the bed instead of inside her (this is why incomplete sex is sometimes called Onanism). The story goes that God was so angry at Onan for "wasting his seed" that God smote Onan then and there.
Masturbation was never mentioned here. The story was about "coitus interruptus," but since masturbation is "wasting your seed," it was seen as a sin too.

It's was taken by some people from the passage where Onan spills his seed rather than impregnate his dead brother's wife as god commanded of the people in those days to insure the survival of the tribe. This is also the same pace that the Catholic church uses to demonstrate that birth control is against god's law.

The Bible doesn't necessarily say that masterbation is wrong, HOWEVER if you are lusting (eg looking at some picture of someone that's really cute or whatever but you don't actually love them) then it is sin.

First of all, sex was created by God for procreative purposes, physical enjoyment, and the demonstration of intimacy between a husband and a wife. In this context, the sexual act is intended to occur in a healthy marriage relationship between husband and wife in purity and holiness. In contrast to this, masturbation is the self stimulation to the point of sexual release without the gifting of a spouse. It would seem that masturbation is a denial of the sexual design of God for couples. But, is it sinful? Again, answering this question is difficult because the Bible does not pronounce it as sin. Nevertheless, there is the principle of purity that is obvious true. Does masturbation fall under the category of purity?
We can say this for sure. If masturbation involves sexual fantasies and/or pornography, then it is certainly not pure and is very sinful. The Bible clearly teaches that our minds are as important to God as our bodies are and that we are to remain pure in both. Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; 28 but I say to you, that everyone who looks on a woman to lust for her has committed adultery with her already in his heart," (Matt. 5:27-28). Jesus is saying that thinking lustful thoughts is sinful. Therefore, masturbation involving sexual fantasies (at least not of one's spouse) is undoubtedly sinful.

It doesn't... there is nothing wrong with masturbation.. it's normal healthy sexual activity. Unless, of course, it becomes an addiction. Then you have a problem.
