She only wants to be friends with you. She wants your friendship and get to know you better...in a friendly way. Most of the time, when guys ask for a girl's phone number, it's usually because they want to hook up or something, but since this girl said she's willing to give you her number "only as friends", she's emphasizing on the fact that she's only interested in your friendship and doesn't want you to get the wrong idea that her giving you her number is asking for anything more than that.

I would take it to mean exactly what she said. She is only interested in you as a friend, not in a romantic way. Be glad that she was up front about it from the beginning. Now you just have to decide if you can be just friends with her. If you try to turn it into something more she will avoid you and then you wont even have her as a friend.

She told you what she means. Take her at her word, respect her boundary and just be her friend. At some time in the future it could change for both of you. But for now... don't try to read into it... accept the answer you were given.

that means she doesnt see you in a boyfriend way. dont waste your time with her if you want more. if you want to be her friend and thats it well thats fine, but dont put yourself through the wondering. if she comes right out and says just as friends then you are definately not her type. find somebody else.

What she means is that she will give you her phone # because you asked for it and she does not want to hurt your feelings. This girl does not want to be romantically involved with you.
