Please, only answer if you've actually seen the New York subway system. I'm asking in reference to this story I read on Yahoo! news : http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070107/ap_on_re_us/hero_aftermath

How far or how hard would it be to lift/drag/pull (or whatever you would have to do, you can tell me what) a grown man (say 150-180 lbs) to safety? I just feel like, in the same situation, I would like to help someone in that situation, and would probably end up not being strong enough and end up looking like an idiot by getting myself killed too. Worse, I might realize my mistake and jump back out, and survive while the poor man who fainted dies, and then get called a coward or something. What do I do?! Lucky I don't live in New York, I guess.

Because I'm wondering how other people do it. People have done it. How did they do it? Was the train coming? Did they have 1 minute? 5 minutes? An hour? Did they lift the person out all by themselves? I want details. Doesn't anyone know!?

It seems like you have to be really big and strong and I think the New York tracks aren't as deep as others, and adrenaline would also help.

...Then why are you asking how to save someone from the NYC subway tracks?

It'd probably be more useful to ask how to save someone from the subway where you live.
