You can put rice in a bowl and then place the banana in this, it will ripen it very quickly. Something else is a brown paper sack. Make sure you seal the top of the bag. This traps the gas in the bag and helps ripen it quickly. Something that is done is placing green fruit below other fruit that might be near ripe or ripen. Just make sure that you don;t let the fruit above spoil on the green bananas.

In the end nature will get it ripe

I've heard of a few ways to do this but I thought I would check with a grower. Put them in a brown paper bag with either an apple or a tomato and they will ripen overnight. Putting them in the refrigerator will actually slow the ripening process and this is recommended only after they have reached your desired ripeness. They will most likely turn brown but they will actually be okay for a few days. Source: Chiquita Brands, LLC

Don't hang them on anything, that delays the ripening process. Either put them in a bowl with other fruit on top or leave them in a plastic bag out on a counter.

That's it, on the counter (with some sunlight would help). Be sure they are not in a plastic bag as this will slow the ripening process.

Bananas always ripen too quickly for me. So just wait 5 minutes.

If you have any other ripe fruit, put it under a cover with the bananas. There is some sort of gas given off that hastens the ripening in other fruit.

Brown bag will do the trick. However, bananas ripen very fast so it isn't really needed. n
