If that means being involved with the Christian Church then everything. This church has a long history of being subverted by many evil people for their own selfish causes - many of which completely contradicts the teachings of Christ.

If you want to believe in the teachings of Christ - or any other prophet, philosopher or teacher then do so privately. When this gets turned into a Church or organized religion then everything goes bad.

Now there is no way you can make me believe that Christ would have condoned wars, the crusades, burning witches, belief in the supernatural per se, whore mongering clergy, using the church to get rich, invading peoples worlds under the guise of missionaries, precedence given to the Old Testament over the New, hatred of gays, hatred of Jews, hatred of other non-white races, the perception that Christ was white and not a dark skinned - fine looking I'm sure - Jew, the literal interpretation of the bible, intolerance of Science and other non-religious beliefs, hatred of other religions, capital punishment, torture, and other countless horrors. .. it is endless - oh and lets not forget slavery.

In fact stop looking for the anti-christ in the future - I think he has already been and gone in the past - where he completely perverted the teachings of christ and produced the organized religion of Christ.

What drives me mad are those old testament bible bashers - they are not Christians they are for all intents and purposes Jews - and there is nothing wrong about that except they hate Jews and are hypocritical.

And of course this applies to many many other religions so Christianity is not alone.

Now don't get me wrong. I think Christ existed and I think his teachings are a good set of moral guidelines. But lets face it - who in the so called christian church - most of them right wing - practice anything but hypocritical lip service?

And soon as you say you are a Christian - especially a named brand - and that this is all past - then I no by more than the fact your lips are moving - that it is still going on. I could point to any number of transcripts form "crusading" or crack smoking male-whoring christians

The guy who answered below you, stating that Jesus is dead, is wrong. He will come back for us. There is nothing wrong in following Jesus Christ, he is the most amazing gift that God can ever give us, he overflows us with water, so we can be an example to others, God gives us more than we need, Following Jesus Christ is the best spiritual journey and relationship that has changed my life. I am still struggling with temptation, but I know that no matter where I am, Jesus is always there. He is my way to heaven, and that is such an amazing grace.

Following Jesus Christ is not wrong.

When followers use Jesus Christ as an excuse for burning witches, going on a murderous crusade for the Holy Land, denying people their civil rights, not allowing women to vote, beating gays to death, and stopping the advancement of science and knowledge, then, to me, it becomes wrong.

That depends on how you define Jesus Christ. Some think he was a great man, others think he was a prophet. Some say he was just the son of God. Some say he is another God. Who do you say he is? If you redefine who Jesus is you are not following the Jesus Christ of the bible and there are religions out there that do this. It would be the false teachers mentioned in the bible that would be in the end times.

Nothing. Nothing at all.

The problem is the common belief that if one follows Jesus Christ, one has to believe that every word of the bible is literally true. This leads to all sorts of peculiar attitudes and beliefs. For example, many who say they follow Jesus Christ say that everyone in the world who does not follow Him is going to go to hell. Not all Christians believe this, of course, but many do. This is preposterous however. What sort of God would treat the pious moral Buddhist, the prayerful religious Jew, the atheist, and the unrepentant child-murderer as though their "sins" are equal; all spend an eternity in hell? Oh sure, they can post all sorts of scripture that they say tells them this. But it is patently absurd to believe that God allows both the prayerful religious and highly moral Jew and the evil unrepentant child-murderer to suffer the same eternity in hell. Sorry, I don't care what scripture you quote. It's ridiculous. And any God that would allow this is certainly not a God that I would ever want to worship. Would you?

Nothing as long as it is a private belief and not involved with the church. A private moral compass shows intelligence; but mindlessly following a church regardless of the its wrong-doings, is dogmatic, ignorant and most of all so anti-the-teachings-of-Christ - in fact not so different from Stalinism.

Oh - do not forget beliefs are like anuses - everyone has one but think only theirs does not smell.

There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, we've been commanded to do so if we desire salvation. (Matt. 16:24-25) The way may not be highly advertised, but there is hope for those who aspire to follow Jesus. Your quest will not be in vain. (Matt 5:6)

There is nothing wrong with following Jesus. The thing that is wrong is when Christians try to legislate their beliefs.

nothing. if more people truely followed what he said, the world would be a , much better place. It's the people who take what he says and twists it to fit their lifestyles that are wrong, not christ himself.
