I just adopted the cutest little cat but it's been hiding under my sofa all day. Any suggestions on how to bring it out?

Try a laser. He may chase it out before he realizes it was a trick. Maybe you can have him chase it into another room, like a bathroom, then leave him in there while you seal off the bottom of your couch.

If it is a new pet give him/her time to get used to your home. Put out some hard food with a little bit of soft food mixed in and it should be out as soon as hunger strikes.(don't feed it soft food yet or you might have awful liquidy accidents on you floor) After you see him out talk to him and offer food from your hand. It will probably run under the sofa again but it is just part of what they do until they know you aren't going to hurt them. A string or feather might work too, just move it back and forth on the floor and curiosity will catch the cat.

Aww, the lil thing is just a little nervious. Give it time and try not to grab at it or anything, or itll be more nervious, take longer to come out, and probably bite you. Just leave some food and water out for him/her and it'll come out on its own when it feels safe. Meanwhile try to go on with your daily life but try not to make too much noise like by using a vacuum yet.

Try opening a can of tuna fish & placing it just beyond the sofa... I bet it comes out within 20 minutes...

If it becomes problematic/psychotic hiding you can put sheets of tin foil and/or sprinkle pepper around the area. Maybe get your cat its own bed/hide a way?

If getting him OUT is a problem... A broomstick handle! Poke him gently and he should run out in one direction. Tempt him with food, reach out and pull him out, rattle his food dish in the kitchen. It just takes time.

turn over the sofa, the kitty might be stuck under it, or ball up some alunminum foil not to tight so it will give off crinkle sounds, and it will come out to play with it, its a cheap toy for cats, my cats love them, cuz they are light and when they swat them it flys, so thee kitty's love to chase them, kool HUH.

DON'T! If you bring hher out she will never feel safe. Leave her there and she will trust her new home as safe and come out by herself when she's ready.
She's just getting used to her new place.
