First off.. It was rude for you to get into a squabble over the whole jealous thing.. I mean come on! Your 16th birthday is suppose to be special and wonderful. Granted you forgot. But you tried to make up for it. And you did alright until you threw in the jealously part.
What you need to do from here.. Is go find the cutest I'm sorry card. And buy her something extremely nice. And just say hey I forgot, I'm sorry I tried to make up for it, and it blew up in my face.
Then after everything is smoothed over, tell her that when she gets older, that people will forget her birthday. And when she gets married her husband will forget their anniversary.

That was pretty cool that you could pull it off! It could have turned out perfect but since she did find out that you forgot it you "should not" have been a jerk about it. Maybe a better phrase would be you "could not" have been a jerk - by insulting her. No offense but that's pretty hurtful. You were put on the spot and that was your reaction. We're not perfect so you both should be able to get over it. That said - all you have to do is talk and be honest. Clear the air. Forget about pride and be natural. It's easy to forgive a friend when they are being sincere.

Of course that was rude, not of her though, it was rude of you to say you're just jealous. Think of it this way: wouldn't you have been upset if she forgot your birthday? You should have just been honest with her in the first place and took her out to dinner with a few friends or something. But, you don't want to live with regrets so I reccomend going to see her and apologizing for what you said. Then saying well let me make it up to you and do something very nice for her, for example: a day at the spa, dinner, or the mall even. Just try to make it up to her the best that you can! Good luck.

Well first of all you should of remembered your
friends 16th b-day!
But at least you tried to put together a party for her, so that's good until your other friend oped their mouth!!
But why did you say " your jealous cause I look better" that was such a bad thing to say!?!?!?! Especially on her b-day!!
And you should definitely go up to her and apologize.
You'd rather forgive and forget sooner than later!!

I think that was pretty rude alright ----but on her behalf, even if you only remembered at the last minute you still put in a good effort by the sounds of it and it is meant to be the thought that counts.

Ah...teenage immaturity. You gotta love it!! Your comment about you looking better than her was totally rude. And you call yourself a friend?? You'd better look up the definition honey! and why fake a party and give used stuff? Just to save your @ss?? Why not confess and tell your friend you honestly forgot? That's what TRUE friends do!

wow that is beyond rude, why didnt you just take her somewhere or tell her the truth that you forgot and that you would make it up too her. I cant believe you didnt expect her to be upset ! Why would you say that she was jealous of you? that was very unkind of you to do something to someone you are claiming you are friends with..
