Hi. I am 23 years old, never smoked and social drinker. I started going to gym 4-5 times a week (running and weight resistance) 7-8 months ago . I am also on Lexapro (for my anxiety problems) for about 9 months.
Recently, I found out that my resting heart rate is 50-58BPM.....or below 60 all the time. I am afraid I am having bradycardia.....
Do you think it is Because of Lexapro or hard workout?

I am no doctor . Im 15 years old. I would say that is is because of Lexapro because since u have anxiety the Lexapro is calming you down therefore slowing your heart rate ? im guessing thats what it is.

Maybe it's because you're more fit from your workouts. Maybe you're heart doesn't have to beat as quickly to pump blood to certain parts of your body. You don't need as much oxygen, and therefore your heart is slower. I recommend checking with your doctor just to be sure if it's causing you to worry. The drug might have something to do with it, but again, I am no doctor. Try consulting a medical forum or getting in touch with someone more knowledgeable. Good luck though.

There is nothing wrong with your heart rate. It is common for athletes and physically active people to have lower heart rates. My 20 year bro is an athlete and his resting heart rate is 48. He's in great health without any problems and also goes for frequent check ups.

I am also 23, and very active like your self, my heart rate is 59-60bpm. Don't worry about it, its normal, you are just very fit. Bradycardia would only be a concern if you were a couch potato
