Are you afraid of shots too?

I have had some awful experiences gettings needles. Once, in the ER, a nurse stuck my 17 times trying to start an IV, and she was yelling at me because I was shaking and crying. I am just so scared of them, I just freak out! What can I do, how can I relax? I get so nervous, and sick to my stomach. I need help please.

Next time, tell the person about to give you your shot, that you had a bad experience. They will be aware of your nervousness and try to be understanding (most are, you just got a bad one). Breathe in and out slowly and look away if you need to. You could have "rolling" veins which would make giving you a shot more difficult.

I used to be scared of needles when I was a kid. I have a mark on my leg because of doctor. This may not help but my eighteen year-old sister was getting a IV too, she holded on to my mom tightly and crying. Don't feel bad. Who cares if your scared of needles you have the right to be! just try and keep your mind off the needles. Hard as it is. ;-) (look sideways)

i am the same. i hate needles to the point, that u could say its a phobia. i had my varicose vains done on my legs.they injected this solution to kill the vein then 2 weeks leter u had to go back so he could push the vein out. but to do that, he had to prick my leg about 7 times in the same area to make the hole big enough to push the dead vein out. i felt like a voo doo doll....very painful but im still alive i guess..

i hate needles too, everytime i go to the dentist to get fillings, i freak out cause i need to be given something so i wont feel the drill. i hate drills too. i never want to see a needle again!
