i learn that my great grandparent came here from long island dutch in the late 1800 so where that exactly.. in which part of the world..

not sure where long island dutch is.. and yeah come to think of it my fathers family did live in new york and nj.. when my aunt who i never met said they came over in a boat i just thought it was from a differnet country

When New York was first settled by Europeans, they were Dutch and the city was called "New Amsterdam". So there were Dutch people on Long Island.

Okay, translated that means that your great grandparent came from Dutch settlers in the Long Island area of New York. Parts of New York were settled by the Dutch in the late 1700's.

The Dutch originally settled New York......(look up how long island got its name)....and the many places in the world...like the Dutch Indies....
