Since George Bsuh ha been in office it seem's the gay bashing has gotten worse as well as the churches feeling they have full right to discriminate. There is one in Fresno California that actually held a conference to teach gay people how to be straight. They had ex-gays there. The People's Church. I think it should be called "The People that believe in Hatred's Church."

He has studiously avoided condemning hate speech toward gay people, has cultivated relationships with people who are opposed to anything supportive of gay relationships, and has vociferously tried to install an amendment to the constitution to ban same-gender marriage.

The man has done everything but invite Fred Phelps to a state dinner.

Yes, he has hurt the cause of gay rights.

I don't think he has CAUSED more hatred toward gay people, I think he has made hatred towards gay people more acceptable in society, which is extremely sad. F'ing fresno - why doesn't that surprise me. I'm from Sacramento, and I notice that Northern CA is a little more conservative than SoCal. You know how it is - it takes a long time for fashion, music, and modern thinking to move to the smaller cities.

not directly but he has fostered and nurtured an "us versus them"/"with me or against me" national atmosphere couple that with his pandering to the Christian far right extremist zealots and ya got a country seething with new expressions of bigotry of all kinds.

the Fundy Christian zealots have been feeling emboldened and empowered while their faux Cowboy of God has been galloping rootin tootin over the Constitution so they've gotten a whole lot more aggressive pushing their "moral" agenda.

It is not about the president, it is how the homosexuals are trying to push their lifestyle on everyone more and more, like in the public schools, they are starting to teach kindergarten students about accepting homos that is just sick, that is one of the reasons I wont send my kids to public schools.. How can there be ex gays if their born that way... doesnt make much sense to me.

I don't know what Bush has to do with it. Cultures always swing from liberal to conservative values and vice versa.
