Well I guess I've been wondering about this because... at a New Year's party I met a friend of a friend, briefly, and then later he found me on AIM and we chatted for a while, and now he wants to hang out with me. I'm going to on the intent of making a new friend, but I really have no idea how I feel about this guy. It surprised me that he is showing an interest in me and we don't even know each other.

Become friends and see how it goes. It seems he wants to do the same. Many times the worst thing to happen is you make a good friend. And of course you know the good things that can happen. :o) Good luck

Getting to know the guy is the first thing to do. And becoming friends is the best way to start out. If the feelings for each other feel more comfortable to you, and you want to go further, just tell him that, don't be too afraid.
Yah a lot of times it's hard to reed what you feel about others, and also if it is just a really good friendship or someone you would like to be even closer too.
iT sounds like the same thing i went through. We barely even knew each other, actually I still don't know this guy. If your wondering about something, feel something that you would like to know about him, don't be shy to ask him, obviously he likes you.. or he wouldn't be talking to you right?
Hope I helped, and everything goes smoothly!

after chatting with him, you must have felt something about him - chemistry is very important initially. you must have felt some kind of connection and will like to explore the connection further. If you don't feel anything, then you should not date him at all. Everyone doesn't know one another from the beginning. That's where dating comes in to allow both of you to see where it will lead to. Good luck!

You don't really know if he's right for you to date until you hang out with them. Just stick to your intent of making a new friend until you find out how you feel about him!

You don't, that's why you go on dates; to find out. Just bring your list of questions.

And you know what ladies. don't be afraid to ask the big big question; might as well get it all out in the open

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN unfaithful? Im not afraid to answer it if you ask "NO".

Of course if you are a cheater asking, than don't bother.

Don't invite him out to go out to dinner and a movie like you would with a conventional date; ask him if he'd like to have dinner with you and your parents. If he lets himself be put into a situation where he can be judged by your parents then he has little (if anything) to hide, and is probably a good enough guy for you.

well you need to decide if you fell comfortable and if you have any thing in common. if you seem to get along well and you enjoy being around him. then why not.but take thangs slow so you can test the waters.if you go to fast that is when people usually end up with some one they don't want.good luck and god bless.

Give him a chance, but maybe bring him with your friends and hang out first, then see what happens

Well how else are you going to find out about each other?
So far you seem to be doing everything right, so keep up the good work.
Be careful but go out, date & have fun.

you got to let him become a friend first!! unless you have weird feelings about him being a friend, go for hanging out with him. doesnt mean it has to become serious, doesnt mean you have to go exclusive. get to know him better and become friends first. THEN and only then can you ask if he's right to date
