what is the outcome? I've been told that the parakeet-female-would die laying the lovebirds-male- egg.

different species in most cases cannot mate and produce viable offspring. It's like having apes like the Chimpanzee mating with a human to produce offspring. Yes, they are both primates but are of different species and share alot of genes, but not enough for successful zygote formation.Have a great year and you have a great imagination. Are you into the arts?

Nothing. A parakeet and a love bird can't mate.

A love bird is also more likely to bite the parakeet's toes off rather then try to mate.

Only animals as closely related as lions and tigers can mate and produce offspring and they will never do this in the wild.

Parakeets and Lovebirds are not closely related enough. In some rare cases they will form a bond and exhibit mating behavior (in the same way some birds will try to 'feed' their owners by vomiting on them), but this will never lead to mating.

I think I have heard of them mating, but I am not sure .
Since a love bird has a bigger body, it might not be safe for a love bird cock to mate with a parakeet hen.
Of the birds I've had, the love birds are more aggressive than parakeets, so the might not be safe in the same cage together. But that would depend on the individuals.
I had a pigeon breed with a ringneck dove, which totally surprised me. They had only one chick, and I still have him.

It probably is possible but either the parakeet would keep having miscarriages or she would die. But parakeets are territorial little birds they probably won't get along.

This wouldn't happen! Totally 2 different species from 2 different continents!

I don't think that's possible. I've never heard of birds mating out of type. I guess they aren't tolerant of other races.
