Maybe they want you to have a drive to do something productive. Is there anything you could do to help others, or some job you could get, or something you could sign up for that was less 'fun' and more 'work and responsibility'? Do you do the things around the house that you are supposed to do w/o being asked? Do you take responsibility for your things and your actions and your attitudes?

First, it won't matter what you do, nothing against your parents, but they still won't seem that impressed with what you are trying to do. Sorry, could be me, but that is how it seems. Your parents love you, and I'm sure all they are trying to say is they want you to do so much better then they have done. Every parent wants that for their child. Talk with them, ask why they think you have no drive. Then ask what they "THINK" you should do. Maybe become more involved with your school. Join clubs, volunteer, things like that. You would be surprised at the things you can do that will not only make your parents happy, but yourself as well. Just talk with them. Good Luck.

But what are they talking about? Are they talking about school work? how you act at home with chores/taking care of your room? Are you constantly playing video games and not doing what they ask?

It sounds like they want to find a direction to point to in--for college and beyond.

Really, I'm not sure hobbies would impress them.

Talk to them and discuss. And discuss. And discuss. You'll get there. Listen to them and make sure they listen to you.

Sit down and talk with your parents asking for details about what they are disappointed in, and what they expect from you. You may be surprised to find that making a few simple changes will make both your parents and you happy, leading you to some additional positive interests! Good luck to you!
