I am thinking of emigrating to the Republic where my Mother originated from. My parents were both cremated.

Yes you can, Much easier to exhume cremated remains then a whole body. But yes you can. The cost depends on if they are in a vault on the ground. Either location will have to be opened. I know to have my daughter exhumed (baby casket) and she was in a cement
vault in the ground...It was going to be $600

I am sorry to hear of any loss, even if it was time ago. You seem to want to take them with you to the republic?

If the wishes of your parents were to be buried in the republic, I can understand your wanting to make this so. The wishes of your parents are very important, I am sure you will do right by them.

You have to check with Irish Customs about the the rules regarding import of remains.

If the ashes have been buried it may be possible. Contact the crematorium and explain the situation, they will tell you how to go about it.

I'm not sure about the whole process, but I do know they have to get permission from the Home Office first.

yes u can but u have to sign a lot of paperwork concerning the bodies of the deceased
